Quite possibly the last game for Correa...would prefer it to be tomorrow with another ring on his finger

    Exactly.

It should be Odorizzi. Then Garcia on normal rest.

But, Dusty's panicking...just like when he used up Javier in game 2 unnecessarily, only to bring him back in game 4 not 100%.

If you think Dusty is making this decision on his own independent of Strom and the rest of the staff then I have a bridge to sell you.

True but sometimes it's because he's tipping and we caught it.

Garcia's out there to get twelve outs, Jake the next 6-9, then you rely on the bullpen from 6/7 onwards.

The real problem is Urquidy pitching in relief in game 5, was the bullpen really that bare?

hes actually probably not even there for 12. I'd say closer to 9 if hes able to. i don't expect much more than 1 time through the lineup. It's already been acknowledged he's on a pretty short leash

You saw it in game 6 with Eovaldi, he looked really good for 3-4 innings, then the usage caught up to him. Considering Garcia can't get beyond 75 pitches in this new World Series form without wearing out on full rest, he's good for 50-55 pitches tops.

I'm just praying that gets us through 4 innings.

With the way MLB is now, you need multiple bench players who can act as starters to be effective in games like this.

We have the luxury of Garcia starting, with Odorizzi, Urquidy and Greinke coming in long relief or starting Game #7. We also have Javier who has started games before and can go several innings.

The Astros are in good shape. And if we get to the later innings Pressly is rested (only been in 2 games so far)

Yeah, the bullpen was not in great shape for the starter to go 3 innings. Maton and Gravemen each had to pitch 2 innings which I don't think was the plan. Stanek, Yimi, and Raley had all pitched in both games 3 and 4. Maton, Javier, and Pressly (2 innings) had pitched in Game 4. So in Game 5 you didn't have a lot of options to cover that many innings. Yimi, Raley, Javier, and Greinke were basically out. Pressly and Stanek were last resorts. I don't think they wanted to throw Maton and Gravemen for 2, but they had no choice.

So either Urquidy or Odorrizi were going to pitch. I think before Game 5, they decided if Framber needed to be pulled early, they wanted Urquidy to be the long reliever and not Odorrizi. I guess they trusted him more to keep them in the game. They were intending to get multiple innings out of him, but his spot in the order came up earlier than they expected in a situation where they needed to pinch hit. I think Urquidy could go today, but they like him better in Game 7 and Garcia in game 6. We'll see Odorrizi tonight almost certainly.

Watching the playoffs closely in the last few years has really made me respect the regular season and division titles more. Sometime the baseball postseason feels like the old Plinko game from The Price is Right. Horribly random... Maybe that’s why there’s so much superstition, even among the managers and players. Makes you feel like you have some sort of control...

Just wanting to let the Sports Gods know that the bargain is still in place. In fact, if they demand we sacrifice TWO Texans seasons for this championship I think most of us are on board for that.

Get us through this game 6 and we might throw in trading our franchise player, John Wall, away, for nothing.

Haven't the Texans been sacrificing seasons since 2002?

I'd even go so far as to sacrifice beloved Houston Texans' front office executive Jack Easterby. Hell, they can even have TWO of our franchise owners in Cal McNair and Tilman Fertitta and for the low price of three first round draft picks, start QB and former national champion Deshaun Watson.

With Alvarez having a bad WS so far, I bet the Braves hitters continue to pitch to him instead of around him. Because of this I think he runs into one tonight and gets a big hit.
