The pass to Wood that Wood wasn't able to finish but got fouled was maybe/probably his best pass all year. The look off to the corner had everyone fooled. The pass was perfectly placed.

Does he get to start tonight???

I fell out of my chair watching that pass. I was even looking at the corner when he passed it

They beat the sh*t out of Sengun tonight! lol A 19 year old rookie vs Anthony Davis, DeAndre Jordan, Lebron James and Carmelo Anthony. This was a real learning experience for him. I said in an earlier post someone has to really piss him off before he takes off. I think he levels up after this game.

He's gonna have to work on that 3 ball .... had several wide open looks tonight. It'll open up his entire offensive game.

Agree with everyone here that Şengün needs to be more confident in his 3. Also agree with everyone saying that his free-throw shooting is an indication that he'll be good from out there sooner rather than later.

I just like how he's almost always at the right place at the right time, and how HARD he plays. He took his lumps today but still showed why his bball IQ is way ahead of Donyell Thesis...let alone most rookies.

I hope AL-P will be starting many, many more games this season. The ball always seems to move around better when he's on the court.

    yep
btw i would rather he work on his layups and finishes around the rim first and clean up the unforced turnovers

3pt shot gotta be a long term project
tbh i would rather he adds a nice hook shot it may be lot easier than 3pt

I saw a 19 year old getting jittery in his first ever NBA start against the Lakers of all teams and that's completely understandable. He'll play better next game versus the Suns.

Welp the Alperen Sengun experiment is over. The whole draft class was a bust. Sell the team and bring in hockey.

Its ok to admit it was a rough game for Alpi. Lakers are one of the bigger more physicals frontcourt teams. Alpi, like all the young guys, needs to work on reducing turnovers without limiting his playmakng ability. Improve 3 point shot. Then just continue to improve on defensive positional awareness (especially against quicker guards) and his interior scoring.

I think he's still adjusting the the speed of the game a bit, which is causing everything to be a "tad" off. If you think about that no jump baby hook down low he did almost in slow motion the other day, that's like more his speed. Caught AD off guard it was so slow and unexpected, which is fine, needs to continue that, but hopefully as he gets adjusted to the speed of the game those things he needs to work on - outside of the 3 point shot - all get better as well.

Even that ridiculous no look over the head backwards pass attempt - and it was ridiculous unless it worked type thing - he saw it and was just like i got to do this fast and just bulleted it.

Adjusting to the speed of the NBA, especially for a slower euro big like Alpi, means learning how to play faster, while simultaneously playing slower, so to speak.

I’m not worried about most of his ups and downs. He does so much more to make up for his offensive inconsistency.
Dude was banging with some elite players down low and holding his own.

He was holding his own, in the sense that at least he was still playable, and did some solid things, but ultimately he was getting dominated a bit. Couldn't stop Lebron, AD, etc. ... WHO CAN?!?!? lol Then struggled a bit offensively, too. Basically, "hey, welcome to starting!! And against a frontcourt of Lebron and AD!!".

I think he should continue to start, just pointing out the things he needs to slowly improve. His bball IQ is so so high, sometimes his brain moves faster than his body, sometimes vice versa, they all need to get aligned with the NBA game speed.
