Our #2 draft pick "Jalen Green" seems to have a ceiling of . . .Gerald Green

Honestly I'd take Gerald Green at the vet minimum over this snowflake. At least Gerald actually stuffs his dunk attempts.

lmfaooo Gerald Green has played more YEARS than Jalen Green has played games.

He’s going to have growing pains this year, with a lot of flashes. Don’t expect him to come out like a 10 year vet. Allow him time to adjust.

I need graphs to confirm OP's intuition is credible.

JCDenton, the graph guy? Oh my, Clutchfans just keeps on giving. Next we need Holic and Glen Rice to create threads.

    Where the graph at brah.

Anyway, what's interesting is that Young Lavine was compared to Gerald Green back in the day, until he broke out

Ouch! That's quite intriguing, to write off a 19 year old who's trying to catch up to the speed of the game. I'll generally let a young guy at least get the feel for one or two season, before more accurate judgement can be made.

And for anyone who's frustrated that some of the guys drafted afterwards are doing better than Green; well at least let's be honest, sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. Because, almost every team would have drafted Green at #2. Detroit themselves were pondering between Cunningham and Green.

If Green falters, it will be because of the metrics used to asses NBA talent for the draft, which could be faulty. However, the raw potential of what an NBA scout looks for, is there...

Jeff Luhnow said if he'd draft Appel all over again, and he said based on the information they had, they would; however, they noticed some fault in their analytics measuring tools, which he mentioned they used to hopefully avoid falling into a similar pitfall. Therefore, you have to trust the tools you built, because if not someone is stabbing in the dark, and percentages of success fall off the cliff...

But , no way you give up on Green now. Even if Green isn't passing the eye test, you keep coaching him! And someone might say, send him to the G-league, but didn't he just spend a whole season in the G-league doing pretty darn good for himself, propelling himself as the #2 pick in the draft.

Green needs to play against the elite players, and he should improve. How much he improves is yet to be determined.

I’m surprised he’s not playing better. Way too early to give up on a talent like that though. This “system”, whatever it is, probably isn’t helping his development very much either. I dunno...
