Just finished this over the weekend with the wife. Violent more so than I'm used to, but really really good. The voice acting with dubs was a little meh . But the overall show was great.
Spoiler I have one episode left, but it appears there is a huge plot hole in episode 7. Why wouldn't #14 simply wait until 1 second left to finish crossing the bridge? He wins. It particularly bothered me because at the beginning of the episode he told the main star not to be concerned about the old man because he had only known him a few days.
Finally finished watching this, pretty entertaining. I enjoyed Alice in Borderland before it so I was pretty sure I would like it from word of mouth. Spoiler They need to make the cop story have consequences and significance in the next season(s). They could try to set it up for a trilogy if they make Front man as a strong villain developing his character, the lead continues to evolve as a character and even guys like the recruiter and VIPs identities.
FWIW, $10,000 won is about $8.50. Makes sense because in the 1st episode he gives the fishmonger mom $10,000 and after he leaves she b****es that it actually costs $12,000.
Spoiler Re-watched that part. After shoving the glass technician, #218 still had one more row to clear; with 10 seconds left to go, I don't think he thought for one second about stopping on the panel and stalling for time. There's too much that can go wrong. The last two people could just say 'eff it!' and jump on your space, killing all 3 remaining. The girl could jump on your space and sabotage you (like what unhinged lady did to gangster dude). Devil you know (100% making it to the safe area) vs devil you don't (messing around leading to less than 100% of making it to the safe area).
Spoiler the last one he had to jump to was the row he pushed the guy through, so he knew which one was tempered. I assume he just wasn't thinking as his focus was getting over the bridge. But, he was such a dick, I assume he would have been aware.
one of those series where i don't really have a favorite character in. tho the secks lady seemed interesting
Spoiler: Ending It was obvious the ending was set up for a sequel because the MC could have easily went on the plane to be the better dad he promised to be but honestly what he will do next season is such a suicide mission. Taking on even richer dudes in this game by himself is going to suck
got thru the 1st episode... wasn't too interested so skipped to the very end of last episode. so... aliens... and do it all over again (for another season?). glad i'm prolly not missing much
