You don't think standing there doing nothing whilst the players try to improvise an offense and fail is going to hurt players' development? You'll have to forgive me if I don't really give any credit to Silas in standing there watching LEBRON ****ING JAMES be a HOF quality player. Are you even serious?
According to what data? Off the top of my head I can tell you that Golden State's mainstay lineup featuring the twin towers of Draymond-Wiggins and 3 smallish guards is probably smaller. . Have you been watching the Rockets at any point prior to 2020? You do realize we used to regularly feature lineups with PJ Tucker & James Harden as the 2 tallest players right? This is way different (and way crappier, but whatever). Christian Wood alone is probably the tallest regular since Nene retired 2 years ago.
There is no worse scenario than what you're describing and it is ridiculous to engage in this conversation about the most extremely negative and least likely outcome. The most likely outcome is one year of his coaching will affect Jalen a little bit. That's how the humongous majority of rookie seasons go. The wolves couldn't screw up Edwards. Zion will be a star, no matter how bad they messed up his first two seasons. Lavine became a complete player under a moron of a coach. Broaden your perception. Things are not going to fall apart that easily.
Actually this is available - here you go. https://hoop-social.com/tallest-lineups-in-the-nba/ NBA Starting Lineups by Average Height 2021-22 1. Dallas Mavericks 80.4 T-2. Indiana Pacers 80.2 T-2. Memphis Grizzlies 80.2 4. Denver Nuggets 79.6 T-5. Milwaukee Bucks 79.4 T-5. Minnesota Timberwolves 79.4 T-5. Los Angeles Lakers 79.4 T-8. Los Angeles Clippers 79.2 T-8. Washington Wizards 79.2 T-10. Utah Jazz 77.2 So, not the shortest, and 2 of the bottom 3 teams are actually 2 of the top 3 teams in defensive efficiency. Other than that great points
Wait, I thought we were gassing each other up when we found out we have the tallest starting backcourt in the NBA?
Theis is starting to really annoy me. Since we are losing anyway why not play Al P 30 minutes a game?!
Ah I see, so you're arguing a point I didn't make? I said "the shortest ROSTER" not the shortest starting line up.
For them to fall apart, they'd have to be together in the first place. Can't say I've seen that so far.
Ah, I see so the Rockets should sign a Zhou Qi type or a Tacko Fall to sit on the bench and raise their average roster height, because the average height of the guys who don't play and are not on the court IS VRRY VRYY MPORTANT
Calm the **** down already, you're literally getting this mad over a one line joke comment about how being the smallest team in the NBA (which is a FACT, b****) made everything small ball. You're one of them kids nobody spoke to in high school and it shows.
To me this is a major part of the problem. And I never understood why they won't fix it. It started under Morey with the drafting of Aaron Brooks, Luther Head, Chuck Hayes, etc. and peaked under MDA's 6'7 and under squad; Harden and Westbrook era.
I believe Martin should start but have him at SF, let Martin, Green and Porter RUN the court. We need to be very athletic and fast team, but we need to get the ball out of Porter's hands he keep pounding the ball SOMEONE(Coach Silas) he need to pass the ball for the best shot. Lakers cannot play defense and does not have the personnel. Bring Tate, Nwaba, Sengun and Gordon off the bench. Keep Augustin on the bench and put Christopher in as backup. That will put pressure on Porter to act right, or he will get less minutes.....Silas to me seem is not strict with players.
Why is height suddenly a perceived issue? Currently, our best offensive player is 6'10" and the back court consists of two 6'6" guards. The Knicks (5-1), Warriors (5-1), and Heat (5-1) don't start anyone over 6'10" and they're managing to be okay. Height's not the problem here or, at the very best, like the 20th problem with this team.
I'd tweak that to Sengun instead of Wood. Sengun's playing harder and smarter most of the time and is a much better defender.
