Texans are one of the least competitive teams I have ever seen in the NFL. Rockets are likewise getting blown the **** out every game and looks lost on offense. Astros are the only hope for this city.
So instead of blaming the batters who couldn't hit their way out of a paper bag for two consecutive games, you blame a middle relief managerial decision. Ok.
Well done Braves, you had a successful October. Well it's November now, mtherfkers! It's our time now.
2 run lead and putting Raley in was a receipe for disaster. Had a 2 run lead. Had a lead after 5. Throw Maton 1 inning and Pressly 2 innings (He pitched 1 2/3) then Graveman 1 inning and I'll take my chances. I said this when Dusty brought Raley in, theory is if you lose, lose with your best. I hope that's what Dusty does these last 2 games and I like the Stros chances.
I think one aspect they didn't have and I guess it could have affected both teams would be the fact that they didn't have batting practice in game 3 & 4.
If they plan on using him for just an inning, get him to use the sticky stuff(not sure if he was using it before the crackdown). It seems they check after the inning is done and not before they come in. Once he gets checked and thrown out, great, wasn't going past an inning. Also if he gets suspended, great, it'll be a regular season game. If he gets fined, have Crane cover it and have Crane pay for his salary when he gets a suspension. But joking aside, if there's a game 7, I wonder if either team uses the sticky stuff.
If the Braves use sticky stuff then I want Cole walking out of our dugout in Framber's uniform to pitch the game. If we're gonna make this illegal then go big!
Here's a breakdown of each teams top four bullpen arms: ATL Smith 3 gms 3.0 IP 1 hit 0 R Jackson 3 gms 3.2 IP 1 hit 0 R Matzek 3 gms 3.1 IP 5 hits 2 R Minter 3 gms 4.2 IP 6 hits 4 R HOU Maton 4 gms 4.1 IP 5 hits 0 R Stanek 4 gms 3.1 IP 1 hit 1 R Graveman 3 gms 4.0 IP 2 hits 1 R Pressly 2 gms 2.2 IP 0 hits 0 R
Uhh if it gets determined that players were systematically instructed to use the sticky stuff in a game 7, then forfeiting a championship is well within the cards.
Down 3-2 with last 2 games at home in the WS. 26 of the 35 times, the home team forced game 7. Half the time, they won that game 7.
In fairness- the rockets are in re-build mode and have a ton of young talent including #2 pick JG and possibly questionable ownership depending on who you ask. Texans - well, they’re the Texans. LOL. They lost their franchise QB and have crappy ownership yada yada yada. Go Astros.
Along with a batters eye they have never dealt with before. Hard to hit a ball if you cant see it. The weather gave atlanta a huge home field advantage in the first two games. That hot shot down 3rd that got underneath and past Bregmans glove in game 4 was also a factor of not being able to judge speeds off that infield cause again, they didnt get fielding practice either.
I see. Any reason why they check after? Is just to make sure they didn't miss anything on their 1st search? I guess a manager or a coach could bring something during a mound visit.
Wouldn’t happen. The Astros and Dodgers and Red Sox all cheated deep in playoff games in recent years. The League would cover for it to save the game.
