It isn't a competition. There is no need to compare them at all. They can work together or totally separate. Either way it doesn't matter. Neither one is greater or worse. They each serve their own function and sometimes those overlap, especially when done well.

No. I think there aren't that many (you said just "a number" which I assume you mean a significant enough number) who fall into that these days nor does their career in acting have anything to do with it. I think those people are very few and not worth debating on the issue. The only thing I agree on is there is "a number" of people who match that and that number is very low and they don't matter all that much. I don't think most modern people usually take issue with gays marrying these days. Yes you can always find a hateful person, but making a thread to attract them to debate seems silly. Side one: Gays should be able to marry. Side two: No, I don't like them? Bc God/insecurities.

While attitudes have indeed changed, still 30% of the people in the USA do not approve of gay marriage. Assuming those are 18+ years old, that's close to 80,000,000 people. The Catholic church still won't "bless" a gay marriage. Southern Baptists - yeah, right. There is still a ways to go to accept gay marriage in this country. And, for something that affects absolutely no one's personal life, that's ridiculous.
