They won two games in LA, so maybe. A few things go the other way and they win in 2019.

They cheated. It is what it is, but it’s probably not why the won that year or haven’t won since.

But we didn't cheat in the 2017 WS.

Is the take here that the teams we played in 2017 (boston, ny, la) weren’t cheating as much or more then houston…..? Cause that’s just dumb

Why? They have 4 solid young pitchers (Javier, Urquidy, Framber, and Garcia), Odorrizi should be a competent number 5 if he starts the season healthy. Even if they lose Correa, they have Alvarez, Tucker, Brantley, Altuve, Yuli, and McCormick/Meyers. If Bregman’s problems are injury related, he is a bounce back candidate.

If they sign a solid pitcher, and get a league average solution at short and catcher they will be a very competitive team.

Sign Kevin Gausman, trade for Paul DeJong from STL as a stop-gap SS if we lose Correa. As far as catcher goes, I think Maldy stays for continuity with the pitching staff since it's clear they LOVE the intangibles he brings.

Yep. They have a roster that would project for ~88 wins coming back and have $40M+ to spend along with a solid farm system. Their division will be tougher as Seattle and LA will be better but the Astros are a contender next season for sure.

It took cheating and a 500-year flood for that championship

He also fouled off a batting practice right down the middle FB in the first with 2 on...before he struck out

Then he swung at a meatball on 3-0 with runners on 1st/2nd and grounded out to 1B

Don't forget the relentless harassment from fans on the road.
Whatever happens tonight I'll always be proud of this team.

Just letting the Sports Gods know...

We, Houston Sports fans, are willing to sacrifice the current Texans AND Rockets seasons for a World Series win this year.

@HeyNow picked the wrong season to sacrifice Deshaun's knee for a World Series

its true. Anyone can be walter johnson against the astros. Even though we score a lot of runs, we are terrible in high leverage. Mental. When we are up 8-0, we can keep pouring it on. When we absolutely need a big hit, seems like we just lose instead.

Didn’t see any of the game as was playing a Halloween gig. At set break saw that the Stros were up 2-1 but halfway through the next set a friend who is rooting for the Braves yelled at stage that the Braves were up 3-2

have bothered watching any of the highlights and as early in the evening got some other Halloween responsibilities might miss much of this game. Hoping to come back pumpkin carving and candy giveaway to see the Stros up..

Yep. Our hitters butts get super tight in those situations.

I guess Correa lost his watch.

We’ve seen Altuve make some big hits when the Stros are down and need a run. It can happen
