I dont blame the pitching, even if they had a few hiccups down the stretch, they still only gave up 3 runs. This piss poor performance by the supposed top offense in the league is what's maddening, 2 measly ass runs thru 2 games smh. Bregman especially, will be ingrained in my mind as an all time choker if they lose this series, dude who finished 2n in MVP just 2 yrs ago & is in the prime of his career couldn't buy a hit on the biggest stage & went out like a chump. CC with all his potential & showboating with barely any impact on the plate...

You are right about his playoff struggles, but this is on a different level. He hasn’t been right since the 2019 season. All the lower body issues have screwed up his swing, and now he is simply lost at the plate. He is consistently looking at good pitches to hit and swinging at junk out of the zone.

He and Dusty were talking in the dugout when he got in after the 4th, Greinke isn't stretched out as a starter since his neck problem and I have to think that he/they determined he was done (eta: especially considering it was 6-7-8 due up).

Could be wrong. Was Dusty asked about it postgame?

That signature has been around for years. It's been a while since I used to be active on this site. I tend to be a doomer now in regards to sports mainly.

They said 12 batters for Grienke before game - someone posted Dusty saying it in here …I don’t feel like scrolling back

Reporter guessed 12, Dusty said before the game he would love 15.

    Greinke did his job.

Understood. I do think he significantly toned down his on-field persona beginning last season. I made an assumption that it coincided with the punishment handed out, when I shouldn’t have.

Thanks for reminding me to turn sigs on for the first time in years...it's interesting. I had no idea what mine was, for example.

I think he's just been hurt and it's messed with his head. I mentioned earlier in the thread that it's a huge offseason for him.

That, and he needs to come out with a spicy version of his salsa.

All the team can do is win inning by inning, nail down Sunday's game by any means necessary and get back to Houston. Then do it two more times.

Game 5 is where the pitching finally gives up, Braves win 7-1, Stros go 0-9 with RISP.

The entire offense is batting below .220, and less than half of that with RISP.

The pitchers are playing to win, the offense is playing like they’ve accepted their roles as the MLB’s designated fall guys and punching bags.

That’s what happens when you play heel, your successes only exist to highlight your failures.

I’ll never forgive the MLB for making us the patsies for a league wide problem. This team already proved itself once and we can’t even have that.

    Hardest game is tonight.
    Framber is huge unknown.
Bats have to go off tonight.

win tonight and back home with Urquidy on the bump for game 6. Like our chances there.

game 7… anything can happen and Garcia has looked solid recently.

"They have good pitchers, and they've been executing every pitch," said Altuve, who is 4-for-18 (.222) in the series. "So they're not giving us a lot of pitches to hit. We're trying hard as hitters. We've got a good lineup, we know, but sometimes you have to give credit to the other team as well."

Sadly, the Braves did in the last two games what the Astros should have done. And that tells you all you need to know at this point. They came back at the end. And they made the plays at 3b and the OF. I mean it couldn't have been more obvious and in our face than that. This doesn't have a Rockets feel to it where we blew it and had the potential to come back. The Braves literally did what we could not. They took it.

He wasn’t yanked. He was pinch hit for.

Before the game they said he’d face 12 batters at most. He wound up facing 14 and threw 58 pitches.

Mild salsa is like non-alcoholic beer. Clearly he has angered the baseball gods.

    Haven’t taken it yet.
90% chance Braves win this thing. That’s just being honest.

But… this team can still win series.
Hardest one is tonight. Need a good outing from Framber and our bats are due.

bring it home for game 6 with urquidy on mound. We will win game 6.

game 7 at home with Garcia on mound…. Anything can happen.
