Msm has more to lose with their brand by blatantly lying. They mostly lie by omission or tilt towards a message that is commercial friendly (customers and advertisers).

Alt media works on a brand of distrust and a loyalty for that particular underdog. Their main sources of funding is tightly concentrated where by billionaire shadow money or suspect apocalypse seeds or "government minted" precious metal coins (Don't trust government paper...trust government metal ShEepLLE!!111)

It's not really about the truth by rather why the commonly held "truth" is wrong, is corrupted, or a flat out threat to your way of life.

A bit cultish but they're not always wrong either...though you'll never see them admit it.

Mainly because some sites won't allow alternative news on their platforms. YouTube is just coming around to letting some things on. Mainly because many have already been poisoned.

But... there has to be some news site(s) that is/are reporting these vast amount of deaths and side effects from the vaccine. Otherwise, why do people say there are a vast amount of deaths and side effects? I'm curious to see them. Google is no help.

I went to my first restaurant in Ireland a couple days ago. You had to wear masks coming in and show proof of vaccination prior to entering. Nobody complained, people didn't throw any Nancy fits, and everything was civil. It's amazing how much safer I felt being around people who willingly doing the right thing than I do around a bunch of "No mask no vaccine Texas Republican dumbasses."

MSM just don’t care anymore. Many of them in management are activists themselves and they believe lying to the public is one way to shape and change this country fundamentally.

I'm planning on visiting family in Singapore since they've just changed their policies to allow vaccinated Americans in without quarantine.

Singapore's worst periods are less severe by factors of hundreds than the US best periods, even considering differences in populations. Part of why is because even before this it was accepted that if you're sick you wear a mask and you stay home. While there has been grumbling about shut downs in Singapore and there has been opposition to vaccination it's not close to what we see here and the vast majority of Singaporeans understand this is a highly contagious disease that can only be controlled with communal action including vaccination.

We're seeing again something that is a big problem with this culture. It's that many things are not only accepted with very little evidence but that the absence of evidence becomes the main argument for the validity of a point.

Fringe viewpoints became their own justification because they are fringe, ie, "The mainstream doesn't know this so that means it's TRUE!"

Certainly a widely accepted view can be wrong and a fringe view can be right but just because something is fringe isn't justification. If anything it demands more evidence as in many cases what has made something widely accepted is because it's already had evidence and such evidence has already survived previous challenges.

People going against the flow is a strength in societies. It's just the fringe going on hunches and gut feelings aren't the ingredients people should use to bet with their or their family's livelihood. When they fail, they become even more mob-like or cult minded

The bigger problem is google and social media killing the capacity for deep research and critical thinking of sources.

You don't just ditch the wisdom of the crowd with the wisdom of the smaller spongier brained crowd... That's not for the weak willed or for mouth breathers, but here in Nanny State Murca we have ICUs taking the brunt of their mistakes

Certainly skepticism is vital for a society but just rejecting main stream views because they are main stream isn't skepticism.

Yes there is nothing wrong with being skeptical of the MSM but that doesn't mean just accepting outside news sources because they are outside. They need to be treated with at least if not more skepticism than the MSM.

    Agreed.

Contrarian stories are more popular in business but those stories usually leave out the hard work and toil needed to take a stand. Faith and conviction are more motivating catalysts than actual basis

Dude, there can be alternative news, but you can't have alternative facts.

That is the problem with dingbats who are unable to differentiate a fact from bullshit and therefore easily led down the path of propaganda.

That you consider those who adhere to logical thinking based in fact as sheeple is ironically comical.

It's just funny how you claim all this information is out there, yet you can't provide one scintilla of evidence. None. Nada. Nothing. Zilch. Zero.
