Tough to score runs when your 3-6 guys aren’t doing anything at the plate. Need them to exorcise some demons tomorrow. Bregman in particular needs to get rolling. Otherwise we might not be coming back to H-Town. Bullpen continues to surprise me. Great game by them, and solid outing by Garcia.
Absolutely ****ing not. Move Bregman down, but you do not take Brantley’s bat out of the lineup for Jose Siri.
Just one bad game. Get some rest boys. I hope the bats can wake up again. See yall round the same time tomorrow.
Even Bregman swung at ball 4 though. And what is Maldonado doing swinging 2-0. None of it mattered, but it's frustrating. We should have had at least 6 walks tonight.
Tactical W tbh They've now seen most of their pen and with Morton out, Stros feast and win in 6. Yay!
Awful game. Sad peformance by the bats. Wasted a good pitching performance. That said, that's baseball.
I’d like to see Siri’s energy too, but not sure I’d sit Brantley yet. They could use a spark though. I’d say if they **** the bed again tomorrow, it might be time to shake things up a little.
MLB Network crew’s analysis of Anderson same as mine. “(5) non-dominant innings of no hit ball” that “on most night’s would’ve caught up with him, but Astros kept chasing balls up in the zone”
The Astros picked a horrible time to have their worst approach of the season. Anderson was more than willing to walk runners in the scoring position the first few innings, and they wouldn’t take it. And Jose Siri: When you are put in to pinch run in a one-run game in the eighth inning, you steal second during the first at bat, not with two outs.
Same position as Boston series. Can they at least win 1 in Atlanta to get it back to Houston? Yes they can. In fact I wouldn't be suprised if they win 3 in a row to close it out. They just looked clueless tonight on offense and it was very frustrating they couldn't get anything going off of Anderson. Baseball can be so frustrating.
Siri should have been sent earlier. No doubt. Even if he gets thrown out who cares at that point. We needed action on the bases.
Brantley plays 1B,Yuli plays 3B Siri plays CF, Tucker RF, Yordan LF Alex Bregman got a hit yesterday but looks injured, dealing with the hamstring 2B Jose Altuve 1B Michael Brantley 3B Yuli Gurriel LF Yordan Alvarez SS Carlos Correa RF Kyle Tucker CF Jose Siri C Martin Maldonado P
Yordan tried to pull everything tonight. When he struck out against the lefty, he didn’t stay on the breaking pitches on the outside corner. He needs to get back to the opposite-field approach that made him deadly in the ALCS. Tucker had the hardest hit ball of the night for the Astros (lineout to center), but he, like everyone else, swung at a lot of garbage out of the zone.
