So things are as when MDA was here? At least Silas will go to his bench eventually. MDA made no subs at all. lol

Every journey is not the same. I don't see how firing him will change anything. It's the players decisions that are bad. He lets them do what they want. It's a weird spot to be in we still have players on the roster from Harden's team. Patience you padawan.

This is why I think John Wall should play. John Wall last season was not John Wall of years past. Last season was rehab/tank season.

but we desperately need some leadership and some veteran presence running the offense. Ego is not a point guard, hasn’t been for a long time. We are not running any real kind of offense. And when we try, it’s insta-turnover.

you can’t possibly develop any players when your team is SO dis functional.

However, that won’t help on the defensive end. And, much like years past, BOXING OUT, is just completely forgotten. Step one is secure the ball. Once we get good at that, THEN you start trying to run the fast break. But until we learn to rebound better, we can’t get ahead of ourselves.

also, once again, we are too small. Christian Wood gets a lot of rebounds for someone who isn’t particularly strong. He doesn’t get a lot of boards that he has to fight for, he’s not boxing out strong guys. Tate tries, but he’s too short so guys like Boban simply reach over him (extreme example but most obvious). We need at MINIMUM two guys dedicated to securing the rebound before anyone starts running on offense.

    @steddinotayto

Should we fast track air pilots as well?

Instead of 1000 or 10000 hours of flight time....let's just snap our fingers and say 40 hours
is good enough. Fire the instructors. They can't teach worth crap.

3 players in our starting 5 are above 25 years of age, KPJ in his 3rd year and bench is Gordon, Nwaba, Augustin who are veterans. I do not believe age is a factor. Problem is that most of the offense is running through KPJ and Green and they both stink at the moment. Rest are doing what they are supposed to do. Green simply needs to come off the bench and KPJ needs to move to SG because his passing IQ is below average.

We have defense in Sengun, Garuba, Nwaba and Martin but Garuba and Martin barely get any playing time. Tate, Theis, Wood can also defend pretty well but look lost on switch defense.

I think coaching is the fundamental problem here and that needs to improve first or it needs to change.

I think Silas was brought in to coach Harden and to lure him to stay, because he allegedly built the Donic offense in Dallas.

I think Silas is not a good coach for this young group of kids, we really need someone that can teach young players how to be an NBA player with structure and format.....a good college coach, or a young NBA coach that has worked under a coach with a great system....Popovich tree perhaps, or like the ex coach in Boston.....we need structure.

As long as Silas is coach it will extend our tanking.

I see no difference in Sila's system than D'Antoni's.... and that's NOT a good thing.

I think MDA can be a great coach for some super creative superstar players like Harden, CP3, and previously with Nash/Amare. That kind of system is or lackthereof is fine when you have superstars.

HOWEVER.. the Rockets are NOT the Harden/CP3 or Nash/Amare D'Antoni teams, and these young players need more structure to at least be competitive. Especially on defense, the MDA style of no concepts, just switch everything seems kind of lazy at this level.

I don't think the Rockets need to hire a Thibs type, but there are plenty of other coaches out there that could be giving these kids a much better chance to be competitive at least on the defensive end. Silas seems like a great guy, but I think he think's he's Mike D'Antoni, and I think he thinks Kevin Freaking Porter Jr. is James Harden. That's a huge problem.

(and no... I don't think or expect they should actually be winning these games. But they should be a tad bit more competitive)

We need to win at all cost!!! The Bucks were always playoff losers however with injuries during the playoff last year they became CHAMPS. Now, they have the confidence of a championship that they didn't a year ago. Memphis was a subpar team with a unknown star(Morant) and that it. They had a little luck in the playoff last year, got victories in the playoffs and now they play with CONFIDENCE AND THE SWAG. I know most people here wants to TANK for more talent but we can trade now to get young talent. We have enough draft picks for next year but we need to win now. We did not draft Harden, Chris Paul, Westbrook, Dwight Howard, Ariza or Gordon. We traded for all of those players and we came very close to win a CHAMPIONSHIP. We have enough draft picks, we need young talent for now. Even if we play John Wall for 20 minutes a game we need to WIN NOW!!!

Jokes on you, he has only coached 77 games for the Rockets. Now your point has a hole in it and it’s leaking everywhere.

Silas for now! Silas for our future!

What I want to see from the players is guys who HATE to lose, can't STAND it, not a bunch of guys that seem happy to be in the league.

I see a little of that so far in:

    Tate
    Sengun
    KMJ
    KPJ

But it seems most of the rest of the players are just happy to be in the league....maybe that is a bit harsh, but competitiveness is a factor all the best players have....

Possibly but, excluding the rookies on both sides, the talent level is higher in Cleveland right now.

Gordon and Nwaba might be veterans, but they aren't ball handlers in anyway and was never asked to run an offense. Augustin is also just bad, he was dumped by Bucks to us as a salary filler. We really don't have any experienced playmakers on this team at all.

The team just looks like they aren't coached at all.
Silas unperturbed as always. Wan smile, clap clap, turn back to the bench.

Losing is one thing. Learning to lose and being used to it? Like Seabiscuit before trainers brought out the greatness in him.

Bring obradovich to states than see how it goes i really want to see reaction of him. He is really old school and won't give a **** who is vet or not if you make mistake he gets you out and tell you what your mistake is . And he don't play rotations who is good at practice gets starting spot next game. And he draws actual plays for players to shine.
