About time for this thread. Thank you. We're stunting the growth of the players and the franchise because the coaching is literally non-existent. They all have to go except Lucas.
Ask yourself this. If you were the head coach of the Houston Rockets would they look that much better or worse? If the answer is yes or no then you clearly understand why the entire coaching staff is a concern.
Calm down , at 1-4 tied for the #2 pick ..... Banchero or bust! Only problem I see is there doesn't appear to be any great point guards in the next draft or the next two FA periods. The pressure is on KPJ to figure it out.
lol whats the point of drafting players with potential when you dont know how to develop them and dont give em enough PT... or how to create a system to thrive in see under minnesota detroit philly basically any team drafting high ...THEY GET NOWHERE OTH look at current nba champions...(or the warriors dynasty even) there wasnt drafting high there... just playing hard and smart, and the coaching!
when will silas start sengun? do we really need to pray for theis injury in order for that to happen? thats when you know the coaching isnt any good...lololol
I liked the Silas hire, simply because he fit the mold of a successful coach in 2020: intelligent, industrious, in his 40s. It was fascinating that the 2020 Conference Semifinals featured 4 matchups between an intelligent coach in his 40s vs Coach of the Year Winner of 50yrs+. The 40s guys swept the COYs, 4-0! Spoelstra, Malone, Stevens, Vogel beat COYs dAntony, Rivers, Nurse and, Budenholzer… So my thinking was, OK, this guy Silas fits that same mold. He has been a massive disappointment, unfortunately, and that pattern might have been just a one-year thing…
PG Josh Christopher - He can play defense, Bigger Guard, Hopefully gets a chance SG Jalen Green SF KJ Martin Jr PF Christian Wood C Alperen Sengun SG Armoni Brooks PG/SG Kevin Porter Jr. if he continues to be turnover prone he really should come off the bench. PF Usman Garuba - His defense is really needed in the rotation, let him learn now, instead of next year.
Dude has two bricklayers in Tate and Thies who are shooting 21 and 28% in 3's right now - you need some shooters in a 5 out offense or whatever that abomination is they are "running". Tate and Thies have to hit the bench. You cant have two dribble penetrators flanked by bad shooters. Silas' rotation is crazy. He has the players to run what he wants, but he's being too pigheaded and married to this 5 for whatever reason. Im fine moving around the starting guards too BTW. Find something to make this crap look like basketball.
Comparing how the Rockets players isolated Jalen the First 2 games. I think there is some jealousy. When Jaesean, Christian were not passing the ball to Jalen it was quite alarming. The 3rd game Jalen had a breakout game, a real statement to his Teammates that I am the Star. Only Rafael Stone, Tillman can force Stephen Silas to play the Real Core of the Team in Alperen Sengun, Jalen Green, Josh Christopher, KJ Martin Jr., Armoni Brooks, Usman Garuba they are the Core. All these Veterans bricking and looking slow, Eric Gordon is one of the slowest Players in the League according to Statistics. Danuel House doesn't belong in the NBA, John Wall looks miserable, Daniel Theis and David Nwaba can Shoot or quick enough to defend. James Harden is the slowest, he is overweight and coming off of injury LeBron James is on the List also.
For about a decade or more, people on this board complained relentlessly that veteran coach didn't play talented rookie superstar and thus not developing (no matter that the Rockets rarely had high draft picks and were mostly trying to find late round sleepers and steals) Now we finally have a bunch of 19 year olds playing starter minutes in October against the very best players on the planet and a similar faction of people are mad that they're playing and looking like college freshmen after 4 games. Folks, you made your bed. Now you're lying in it. This is what blow it up means: these are yhe inknown commodities
5 pages in and I’m still waiting for one example of something good they’ve done this year lol. would have thought someone would have at least said Silas is a great friend for them who had them over for dinner occasionally and that’s super nice of him!! ……………
this is your third post in this thread i think along the lines of “well they’re teenagers what do you expect????” pretty sure not many of us expect wins, or even amazing statlines. we expect something that looks like coaching … in some way. That’s all. as I noted in post above…. Name one thing it seems like the coaches have coached that’s positive? Let’s talk about the actual coaching and not the w/l record - idgaf about that.
I might have missed something in the past 20 years here but when did we ever witness a scenario of: Veteran coach didn't play talented rookie SUPERSTAR?
