I'd take back Dan Tony in a heartbeat for this squad. There would be no defense but he'd at least provide order to the offense with actual play calls and reads.
It'd be better if it was Suns Dan Tony, lots of passes and quick offense rather than end of Rockets-tenure Dan Tony where 4 people stood like lemons and one person played streetball against 5 people (that's not awfully different than what we have now, and nobody has a big enough Beard.)
You need the right players for that offense. I've said it again and again... KPJ needs to focus on scoring and not setting up his team mates just yet. Unless they are cutting to the rim they also need to be 3 pt specialists. Until green has a consistent shot he needs to come off the bench. We need consistent shooting. When green comes off the bench he can then take over kpj's role and just shoot. Look at that Dallas roster and look at their players. That were playing along side Doncic. Surround Wood and KPJ with good 3pt shooting and watch The offense blossom.
Rockets defense under MDA was top 10 in 3 of the 4 seasons he coached the Rockets. Take your lies and conspiracy BS somewhere else.
There was defense because the team was full of good defenders. CP3, Luc, Ariza, Tucker, Capela. Who's playing defense this year? Sengun can't do it all fam.
I was against Green coming off the bench but after seeing him struggle so badly consistently, it might just be necessary now. Besides scoring, Green offers nothing in passing, rebounding, or defense. I wish coaches would at least emphasize other necessary attributes in Green instead of giving him green light to consistently jack up 3s. Might be a better idea for a complete offense designed for our bigs Wood and Sengun rather than our guards until KPJ & Green learn how to play team ball. It is irritating to watch Sengun averaging only 17 minutes per game.
And you're a dumbass to boot, do you even follow the Rockets? Bzdelik was only an assistant for 2 seasons of the 4 seasons that D'Antoni was HC. Tilly let Bzdelik go, not once but TWICE.
So literally Silas brought nothing to the table outside of having generational HOF star players surrounded by great role players? So what's the point in him as a coach if his "genius offense" is limited to only already great players surrounded by great role players? Do you not see the problem there? If a coach needs the best players to be good, maybe they're not the coach they're being touted as? I watched years of Adelman keeping us competitive with teams with a lot less talent than our current roster, but "offensive genius" Silas can't do it because we don't have a HOF, once in a lifetime player to run his offense?.. Seriously, think about that.
Man, remember that beautiful 17-18 season with the best offense and like 5th or 6th best defense in the league? We played such great basketball that year. D'Antoni is so badly underrated for a coach as revolutionary as he was. If only we'd got that chip.
Thats what I thought just too! **** they look like rec games where everybody get their turn for couple of possessions to try some moves. Standing on defense, no boxouts... one pick deletes every defender lol. Silas is a ****ing fraud thank you JH+WB for sticking for the guy just because he is a yes man and not white. We would be far better with JVG
don’t even go there with the not white stuff JH and WB were both on their way out so bringing them up is irrelevant…Stone asked them about Silas and they were like “yeah man, sure, whatever…I’m not gonna be here long anyways” the responsibility for this hire is on Stone and Stone alone
Alot less talent? Kyle Lowry and Dragic and a healthy aaron brooks running point. Shane battier, ron artest Yao ming, luis scola, even when Kevin Martin joined the guy was already a 20 ppg player. If he was really that good of a coach Durant and Kyrie wouldn't have wanted him gone. He also had Lavert, Allen, Russell who was on his 3rd season in the Atlantic Division. Look right now this team does have talent. We also need to see if we have "Generational talent" on this team. I'm not saying Silas is a championship coach, but having good players that fit his system help. My biggest question is what the hell is Jeff Hornacek doing? When D'Antoni was here we got Bzdelick. If he's here for defense then he's terrible. He's literally been terrible everywhere he goes. Eventually we need to see if KPJ is that generational talent on this roster and if Jalen Green was worth the 2nd pick. If not, we tank and get that talent.
The same Kyrie who is erratic and said “we don’t need a coach” after Steve Nash was hired? KD wanted Steve Nash who hadn’t coached a day in his life and hasn’t looked impressive whatsoever. He’s basically a figure head who lets the players do whatever they want. Atkinson is the one who developed Levert, Allen, Russell, Joe Harris, and Dinwiddie. These were all non-lotto picks and a disappointment in D-Lo. KPJr is not a generational talent or anything close. Not sure why that’s something we need to see or find out when it was never a chance from the beginning.
There was a reason why JVG in particular stayed an analyst, he could say whatever he wanted minus cursing and do whatever he wanted. And there were no pressure and stress.
What do we really expect them to look like after 4 games ? I don't know if they are playing to much , not enough or what .... What I do know is that I've seen improvement from last year to this year and improvement from game to game by these 19 year olds - 4 games in. We gotta give them some time .... What would really help is a quality veteran point guard .... Augustin just isn't that guy , he defers too much instead of running the show , getting these guys in the right places and easy shots. Neither was Wall .... We all know that the ultimate goal right now is for KPJ to grow into that role but it looks like a long way off .... If I could add one veteran point guard to this bunch , first choice would be CP3 , second choice Kyle Lowry.
