Christian Wood signed with the Rockets thinking that he would be playing with James Harden and going to the playoffs for the first time in his career. Instead, he’s on a similar team to the one he put up numbers with in Detroit. It’s not hard to understand why he’s frustrated that the Rockets’ situation did a hard 180 shortly after he signed here. It isn’t what he envisioned, and he probably wishes he could go back in time and make a different choice.
If he starts playing like an All star I'm sure other teams will want him. Right now he's hardly showing the level of ability where a team needs to be structuring themselves around him. He has no full seasons of starter production, he's almost as much of a project as the rest of the team.
He's only playing 2 rookies lol Also if you want to blame shooting KJ and Brooks can shoot and he doesnt play them but he does play Nwaba and Tate and they cant shoot. So you made a great point of why people blame Silas lol
Lol. Come on now. Funny, I saw him disregard Sengun making his way to go to work on Conley in the post, and demand set a pick for him on the perimeter so he could brick a tightly contested mid range. If that's the quality midrange to expect - no thanks. Yeah, I head straight to the opponents commentary team this season. Never once used to do that. Pretty depressed right now the 9 Rockets games i've flown over to see, never resulted in me sitting anywhere close to someone like this. Sengun goes against the grain and actually does know what he's doing out there! Which our other rookies show, is quite amazing for a rookie. Let alone a foreigner who can't speak English. Shame the coaching staff are hindering him. Haha this is such a peculiar player to liken to. Randle, someone who loves bodying up and the physicality. Jalen.... let's just say the complete opposite to put it nicely. - I can already see similarities in Green Only Fans and the LOFs. Just when we thought the pain was over. This team is allergic to chemistry. - Sengun establishes deep position and DJ looks at him and misses a perfect pass, and eventually passes to him and Sengun gets called for 3 seconds instantly. - Sengun begins his movement to take Conley into the post to establish position, instead Green demands he comes and sets a pick so he can get around Jordan Clarkson... to brick a bad and contested midrange jumper - just lol at the fast break blown by Tate who had Theiss right under the basket but blew 2 easy points by choosing to give it to Wood instead - Sengun really needs to dunk the ball. Two blown layups. Wonder if the lack of involvement is equating to lack of confidence. - DJ is just atrocious. So the one time he looks to pass it to Sengun quickly. It's when Sengun is moving away from the basket, and he passes it straight to the Jazz anyway. - the one time Sengun hasn't been scared to death from the coaching staff to pass the ball off immediately - he goes coast to coast. Really is no coincidence you're hearing opposing commentators with positive comments about Sengun in every game. Not so much any other rookies on the team as often.
Does he have all the skills yet? No. Does he stand around not trying? Not remotely. He hustles hard on D, he also gets back on D INSTANTLY when it breaks down (point and case when he got stripped, looked for a foul call he didn't get and instantly stripped the ball back) and he uses his athleticism to help overcome his awareness shortcomings. If Harden had put half as much effort on D for most of his career he wouldn't have been a laughing stock to the point people ignored it once he actually got better. The biggest negatives I saw pre-draft were that he couldn't playmake and had no defensive skills. So far he's playing hard on D even if he doesn't have all the tools yet and is arguably a better playmaker than the guy we're trying to turn into our starting 1 guard. Maybe stop expecting an all star right out of the gate and judge him fairly based on his experience?
Hahahahaha what's that got to do with my post? You said he's a decent defender. I commented on that because i've seen anything but. You do you though. Maybe it makes you feel better watching him get bullied deep into the key when someone actually makes him play defense.
Well a lot of the 3's he's shooting are pretty tightly contested as well. Obviously, any contested shot is not ideal but shooting a contested shot closer to the basket should be easier to make for him than a contested shot further from the basket. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying he should shoot contested shots. Rather, to simply shoot a different array of shots instead of mostly relying on a 3 point shot that he's not particularly good at, and that when overdone makes him more predictable to the defense. Besides, not every shot will be contested when he gets to the midrange. Sometimes the defense will react too slow, misread the situation, or even get misdirected by a dribble move which will end up giving him an open shot.
Another idiot with the reading comprehension of a flea. Par for the course. You think I was comparing their games? Don't answer its a rhetorical question.
You know when you bold half a sentence then ignore the rest of it that gives context it shows that you're struggling to make a point without being intellectually dishonest. If you cherry pick half the words without reading the rest you're not actually replying to the quote, you're just talking to the voices in your head that missed the whole point of the post you replied to.
It's funny. You mentioned Randle. As if you were likening his rookie output to what he is doing now. As if to say, look at what Randle did and is doing, and look at what we see Green doing and can expect from him. I LOVE the fact you called someone an idiot because they don't have any reading comprehension..... yet you yourself being the original poster, don't seem to even grasp what you actually posted. LOVE IT. Carry on fool. Hopefully you can post better than Green plays.
No, what it actually means is i'm making a comment to the part I bolded. Gee, you're really struggling today. You see, me bolding a part means unequivocally that's what i'm commenting on. Best to take a break from Clutchfans. Might do you a world of good.
Terrible game, but trusting the process and understanding that this team has a plan unlike the Texans….
Porter has played only about 82 games total....how many games are in a normal rookie season? About 82 games. Just learning Point Guard on a regular basis. So you are saying the Rockets roster is perfect? Tate and Nwaba play because of defense But you admit they can't shoot. Rockets have been showcasing House, that's why KMj hasn't been playing; but with House injured and now Porter sprained ankle will probably see KMj more. Yes I have KMj starting over Tate prior to season.....but maybe Silas and coaches see something I don't. They are at practices, I'm not. Brooks defense lacks a lot to be desired. He did make the rotation tonight..... briefly. Defense forced him out. I ran the players and ages yesterday in a post. 8 players with 1 year of experience or less. 15 man roster.....with most coaches going 8 or 9 man rotations. Just so happens our main rotation is a good chunk of those kids. And against teams with vets.....will be outplayed. Regardless of the coach.....especially when your facilitators are so raw. Those are your quarterbacks. I hear Utah is pretty good. Number 1 seed in West last year and was 4 and 0 this season
You might seriously have a mental disability so Im not gonna call you an idiot anymore. Sorry that was uncalled for. To clarify I was just saying that rookies start out rough sometimes and eventually they become stars, superstars and mvps it takes time. I wasnt comparing their games that would be ridiculous and no one would do that.
love the continuity in jazz personnel..... i suggest rockets do it too...sign them on cheap and give the youngsters plenty of PT
