Just looked it up. He was picked up by the mariners between Cincinnati and the Giants. Didn't even play a game before being waived again. Talk about picking up someone off the trash heap. I think his brashness rubs some coaches the wrong way. Comes off as being uncoachable.
I am not crazy about giving up defense for any reason in a WS game, but not having Brantley in the lineup also seems wrong. In the end, in Atlanta (not Boston ), I could see Chas replacing Brantley late in games. Especially those where we are ahead. So I expect Chas to see some action, even if Brantley starts. Looking at their playoff numbers, Chas and Brantley are about even in OBP and Brantley leads in SLG% https://www.espn.com/mlb/team/stats/_/name/hou Coming into this, I thought Chas would be the power guy of the two. Maybe he is due? Anyway, its a risk either way IMO.
Brantley and Alvarez are swinging it well, and others in the lineup are not, so there's no way you can take either out. If the IF was killing the ball like they should, you'd be more likely to go with more defense. Truist has deep gaps (moreso in LCF) so Tucker's going to have to cover a lot of ground to cover for the other guys. Tucker can absolutely handle it, it's the other guys that make me nervous. Let's all pray for strikeouts, ground balls, lazy flies, and singles.
Our BP has been pretty amazing this whole post season. Click did an amazing job upgrading it without giving up too much. If we can resign Graveman, we will be in good shape.

I would start Siri over Brantley and start Castro over Maldy to offset the loss of offense. But I understand why they want Brantley out there. Hopefully the Braves don’t send any balls to the outfield.

Can we imagine if all sports teams with animal names had to change them? Tigers, Orioles, Blue Jays, ect... I think its ridiculous the Indians had to change theirs. I thought Washington's Bullets and Houston's Colt 45's were great names.
Or just banning the word “foul” because it sounds like “fowl”? Or getting mad at announcers when they describe the bench yelling at the ump as “they’re barking at him…”, or getting mad when announcers describe Yordan Alvarez as a “stud”?… or just get mad at the construction industry when they use the word stud? If they’re really going to break down root words or word origins, they’re going to find a ton of words in the English language that may have originated from an animal reference.
