I think it's absolutely critical our starting pitching gets off to a good start, tonight and the rest of the series. You look at the ALCS and last night, when our starter gives up runs before our bats even have a chance, it's deflating. You're fighting an uphill battle the rest of the game. Good things happen for this offense when you keep the game close. Urquidy needs to give the team a chance to strike. Hopefully he can have a bounce back game like Framber did.
You're the same guy who had his head so far shoved up BOB @$$ you couldn't tell if it was night or day. You're clueless!!
You are wrong. I never like Bill O'Brien. I always said he had the right, as coach, to implement his plan. BoB as GM was a mistake. I wanted him fired before Cal decided to give him the title (after the KC Debacle). I wanted him gone after that Buffalo win.
not really. it just tells everyone enough about your post. you're saying that's dumb, yet calling it a sweep. ironic
Swap Yuli and Bregman and maybe start Siri in CF. ETA Fun Fact: Current Astros are hitting .750 against Fried. Greinke is 1-1 and Marwin is 1-2. No Brave has faced Urquidy.
What did you post in the ALCS thread when the Astros got blown out in back to back games? @CK Johnson you too since you liked his post and I definitely remember your "the series is over" posts in the ALCS thread.
Lol, he's a known Astros troll. Look I'm pretty down on them too, but I'm still here hoping they win. That's the difference between someone that's frustrated and disappointed, and someone that loves to troll.
Bregman had 2 hits in game 6 and a HR in game 4. He hasn't been great this postseason, but benching him seems out of nowhere. I'm pretty sure Correa's inability to hit with runners in scoring position is killing us. He has struck out multiple times with a runner on 3rd and less than 2 outs this postseason. Ever since the it's my time HR, he's struggled terribly in big situations.
Even though the odds of you winning have increased? So if offered you a $50 tip jar bet that the Astros would win this series 4-0, your wouldn't take that bet?
This team has a knack of coming back from seemingly perilous situations, so that gives me some hope. But it’s also tough to be confident about tonight considering we’ve lost 5 straight WS home games.
Missed last night's game but man some of the takes on here are dog $hit..... We have this bad ass team that have been underdogs since 2017, primarily built through the farm system and not paying super stars millions and millions of dollars... Its always been the home grown players that no one expected would do something special that did something special. Always had their backs against the wall and because they lost the 1st game of 7 game series we are suppose to think its over? Its far from over... Maybe The Astros don't win it all, and if they don't I'm still damn proud..... But we have seen time and time again these guys turn it around... They almost came back from 0-3 last year!!! We could lose tonight and still would not be surprised if Houston won every game in Atlanta and finish the series here.... In fact, it may just happen that way.
I’m here to bring positive vibes.. astros losing game 1 is nothing new.. Maybe they needed something to fire them up and they’ll wake up and smash the rest of the way.. Stay strong fam. ps. My baby girl and muh lady are going to the game today. Baby girl hasn’t lost a game in attendance yet. 3-0. Leggo!
We got our asses kicked in game 2/3 vs Boston in the ALCS and looked where we are right now. To quote my favorite QB Aaron Rodgers, R-E-L-A-X
Correa has had some bad luck though. He's been unfortunate enough to be 0-2 in almost every at bat. And big at-bats too. The third strike has been somewhat self inflicted but he's been in some bad counts. I don't like how he's flinching on the curve ball lately.
Bregman has to be moved from 3rd in the order. Immediately. Unless you want to give Braves’ left-handed power relievers like Matzek and Minter an advantage by stacking three left-handed hitters in Brantley, Alvarez and Tucker back-to-back-to-back with the three batter minimum, a right-handed hitter has to bat third. Your options are Yuli and Correa. Yuli is currently hittting better, so that’s why he is my choice, but I’m fine with either. Correa is not afraid to do damage like Bregman currently is as the 3-hole hitter. Correa’s problem right now is being over aggressive. Bregman looked at multiple cookies down the middle last night and other than a gapper in Chicago and a homer over the monster in game 4, has struggled to consistently drive the baseball. Also, it’s a far bigger issue that Yordan Alvarez continues to lead off innings because of the struggles of the 1-3 spots in the order during the Boston series and Altuve and Bregman’s suckitude last night. Carlos Correa is plenty capable of producing behind him, so good luck pitching around Alvarez to get to him. If you want to get Correa better pitches to hit that he is willing and capable of hammering, bat him third in front of Alvarez, with Gurriel behind Alvarez. Bottom line: Bregman has to bat 7th, and another right-handed hitter bats third if you aren’t moving Altuve and Brantley from their spots in the order.
