Not a fan of Hollywood but even less of a fan of senseless deaths. Feel really bad for the victims' families.

I was wondering how Negligent Homicide would trickle down or up.
The producers KNEW they had issues on the set
    But they pushed on . . . .
I feel like singling out the Armourer and 1st AD maybe a bit too focused

if someone was killed at a chemical plant in the ship channel because of lax safety protocols allowed a worker to screw up, would you expect to see someone charged? Why would this be any different? They’ll pay some settlement. Maybe insurance will pick up the tab.

This story was an episode of Psych. But it was a telenovela

Wow. Is that a reputable source? I know Baldwin is a woman beater but labeling him murder needs a lot more than that

This was destined to be pushed into a politics discussion... perhaps it should be moved into D&D?

You get Covid, you could get very sick. And, it's likely it would spread. Even if you are not seriously ill, you have to quarantine. That shuts down production. Which costs money.

Seems sensible to take Covid seriously when the objective is to finish the project on time and make money.

In this instance, someone died. In my experience, in this country, money seems to > cracking a few eggs.

How about... they just get both things right. Doesn't seem difficult. We land people on the moon. Perform complex surgeries remotely via robots. Disarming weapons doesn't sound that hard, but if it is, maybe it shouldn't be so easy to access them, particularly in places like Texas.

Haven't been following. But why? Seems like a tragic accident with some loose ends that need to be investigated.

in this case, COVID protocols superseded gun safety protocols

a gross failure of risk management

Do we know yet what type of “live ammunition” was used? Could it have been shrapnel from a blank? Because why would they even bring other ammunition on set? That’s what I don’t get.

According to reports, the crew was using that gun for target practice at times.

Right, because there is no horse playing on movie sets. It's serious all the time.

Uhhhh... they're out in New Mexico in what looks like a desert setting.

People shoot guns at stuff all the time for sport.

You shouldnt mix and match your fun guns and the props for the movie. That is a recipe for disaster.

If you want to shoot bullets at stuff, you should have a different set of guns from the ones you actually point at people.

Bad safety practice to use the same guns for both.
