A lot of these kinds of petty shootings don't happen often in other countries due to the sheer lack of access to guns / the uncommonness socially and or lawfulness of carrying a gun on the person at all times.

The number of guns, and the general gun culture in this country is just nuts. The evidence is overwhelming, more people having more guns does not equal a safer, nor fairer society. Just makes it way easier for us to kill each other for no good reasons.

More importantly, I have no idea why I still comment in Tinman threads. Please don't reply to my post, good sir.

    https://www.chicagojournal.com/15-y...mpting-to-steal-xbox-from-online-sale-meetup/

15-year-old and 19-year-old shot attempting to steal XBox from online sale meetup

A 29-year-old male was contacted by a 15-year-old male and a 19-year-old male in regards to purchasing the gaming console the man had posted for sale online (unconfirmed reports said it was an XBOX). The three males agreed to meet for the purchase of the listed item in the 3600 block of N. Octavia near the intersection of Octavia and Waveland in the Dunning neighborhood on the city's northwest side.

After initial contact between the three men a little after 10:00 p.m., one of the younger males pretending to purchase the item grabbed the gaming console and began to walk towards their vehicle without paying the 29-year-old for his item.

The 29-year-old ran after the younger male until he saw the second younger male sitting in the vehicle and pointing a gun at him.

The 29-year-old drew his own firearm and fired. The 19-year-old was struck in the shoulder and the 15-year-old sustained a gun shot wound to the head.

The 29-year-old male told police he only fired one shot.

Update: Earlier our report indicated the offenders were transported to Community First Hospital, however, it is believed the two offenders self-transported to Community First Hospital. Once there, they were taken into custody. The younger of the two offenders was transferred to Lurie Children's Hospital and the older offender was transferred to Illinois Masonic.

The 15-year-old who suffered the gunshot wound to the head was listed in critical condition and the 19-year-old was listed in fair condition.

There is no additional information whether or not the 29-year-old has a valid Illinois FOID Card or Concealed Carry License.

Area Five detectives are investigating. We'll continue to update this post as we know more.

People that don’t meet up at a police stations are stupid. I’m selling some goods online right now and had a buyer back out after I told him where to meet me. I wonder what he was up to?

Teens ? ehhh act like a man, die like one. Sad as hell but they were old enough to know right from wrong and what is dangerous and safe. These are not 13 year olds too... these are 15 and 19 year olds. One is an adult in America. The other is old enough to go fight in war by historic standards. I would advise hesitancy if they take an Xbox but if they are in your home you have no idea if they will pull a gun.

Long story short: Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

I'd understand if it was a PS5. Those things are impossible to find at retail price.
