its amazing how former players still claim westbrook is a star player.. when looking at the advanced stats he is a net negative player at best. 538 raptor called him a scrub and basically said he is stealing money. I wonder what westbrooks next contract will look like after his current contract expires

 

former and current players don’t look at or give a damn about advanced stats…none of them know what 538 Raptor is or care to know…none of them are looking at TS, BPM, WARP, and whatever other letters u want to combine together

they judge players based off how skilled they are or how difficult it is to do whatever they’re doing…that’s why guys like Jamal Crawford and Lou Williams will get overrated by players because they can get buckets and hit tough shots…players were acting like Melo still got it long after he became washed because even washed Melo could still hit turnaround fadeaways in the post and do some nice dribble combos in ISO situations then hit a pull up in a defenders face…in Westbrook’s case, he averages triple doubles, plays with passion and energy, and is still living off his past reputation as a superstar

I’m sure that some of them know that there’s advanced stats like PER, but I doubt that even 1% of them care about or value all the advanced stats fans talk about…players are all eye test and individual experience when it comes to evaluating other players

538 might say Westbrook is a scrub, but none of them care about what 538 has to say or will take that into account

 

russ has never evolved as a player in his entire career. basically been the same player being babysat by scotty brooks( isnt he an assistant on the lakers now)
