Fair point. But I got banned here muliple times for being a jackass. I never did anything illegal or nefarious. And David owns this site and can ban someone for any reason. Facebook gets special exemptions for supposedly being an open forum and it is increasingly becoming anything but that.

FB is primarily for 40+ now. I quit it a few years ago because I wasn't getting anything out of it, and it seems like it has only gotten worse.

Facebook is great for keeping in touch with those medium level friends and family that you do not directly message, call, email. Facebook is my address book in 2021 and my wife uses it as a mechanism to record photos especially family events - wedding birthday. It has been a useful tool as the critical mass of it all means it is useful. To find people.i love searching middle school flames while on the shi**tter I wish a way to keep in touch was around for those people I met pre 2000. I literally remember writing people I met letters. I lost touch with many of them. It's a shame. I wonder what will happen as it all becomes diluted. If you search names on instagram it's more handles like here so not sure how that will go. On Instagram it's people finding each other that probably want to be found. I always thought of Instagram as being more about vanity and selfies and trying to be sexy. I have and Instagram set to private and I take embarrassing sexy pics but only have 1 follower. My wife. So not sure in my anecdotal example where Instagram will be a good address book tool. It just doesn't seem like it's about that. I don't have Snapchat or TikTok so not sure but from what I can tell it wouldnt be useful in search. Really I only have Instagram because I can't post sexy pics of myself on facebook since it's almost more like linked in now. Gotta be prim and proper. How will people find each other later?
