Not taking anything away from Mobley but it does help quite a bit when you play with a legitimate PG.
He didn’t want the “boring” Mobley to be the new face of his franchise. He wanted the flashy pretty boy with all the Instagram fans.
I think Green will be a good player but I’m not seeing the superstar potential. I found it crazy how a lot of Rockets fans placed all the blame on people like Morey and H****n and magically expected Tilman to change. The next step is for Tilman to declare the rebuild “complete” (aka rush it) and trade all the assets for middle of the pack role players in order to be “competitive”
Poor rationale. Rockets roster was already 60% guards, even before the draft. Get off this thread if you don't like the subject.
No poor rational just simple logic… they weren’t picking up 2 bigs in the lottery. I see you didn’t answer my question cause you know I’m right. Seem to be you want Green to do poorly just to b**** on this thread about us not drafting Mobley.
Seriously fattz, you should stay out of this thread, you can't handle it. You obviously just want to put it behind you and stick your head in the sand. And I've never claimed Green was a bust even after two below average games and less than stellar preseason. As I've stated ad nauseum, Green scoring will improve over time but his strength and defense will take a few years so patience required. The Green homers who believe he will average 20 his 1st season because he played vs. grown ass men in G League are just gaslighting themselves.
Yet the Rockets DID draft two bigs in the 1st round. Neither Sengun or Garuba were lottery picks. FACT You have zero foundation to state otherwise. It's not what you believe that is truth, it's what actually happened that is truth. Both Sengun and Garuba are bigs that were drafted in round one. Rockets only had 1 lottery pick (2nd overall) and moved up to 16 to draft Sengun. FACT Stone doesn't care about positions, he values talent, otherwise the team would not be so guard heavy the last 2 seasons.
What a stupid assertion. Mobley is already better than Wood at same age. And Mobley would have been a great complement to Wood if drafted. And Mobley would have allowed Wood to stay at the 5 which is his best most productive position.
Scottie Barnes was another pet cat, along with Mobley and Sengun. These were my 3 favorite players in this past draft.
I preferred Mobley to Green. I felt Mobley was more NBA ready and defensively was elite. I am not giving up on Green, he may prove better than Mobley. I will only say it is very easy to build around as coach a guy like Mobley.
I was Green gang but honestly i can bite my tounge and say currently Mobley looks better. But still Jalen has that 2003 SG bounce that i just cant resist
