ClutchFans Game Thread: Thunder @ Rockets 10/22/2021

We lose enough to get a top 5 pick again. Won't be too bad. We will be great again soon. I trust the process.

 

I'm not saying that won't happen because it is the NBA in that a lot season games don't really matter to teams. A lot of load management amongst other things. I'm not getting overly excited about beating the Thunder though. I am happy that they played better basketball though. Not as many stupid turnovers and bad defense as the first game.

You were on the right track though. He can make them against OKC when we are playing great defense but he's going to have trouble against better teams who dont bite on his fakes or ones who can recognize he cant shoot the 3. He cant shoot and passes up wide open shots from 3 and clearly has trouble passing. I was happy when we resigned him but I think Silas is overplaying him a bit. You can go back look at the thread so im not hating on him but his style of play is not always what is needed. Against the twolves we needed more scoring. If theres a star killing us and we need a defender great but when we need a shooter you need KJ or brooks out there.

 

At least Rockets will not be the worst team in the league after seeing tonights game. Green should use those step back midrange shots a lot more rather than forced 3s and layups.

 

OKC is really bad though.

Me ruined earlier in the thread but Jalen is still 0-0 from the line. Kevin Porter Jr 1-2.

this is through 2 games.

Starters overall have shot 13 FTs all season.

they’re not getting calls… but they desperately need some advice on how to draw fouls. Hardens flops were much but you need FTs to have efficient offense.

Couldn't find any decent okc boards so I went to reddit okc sub forum and their big consolation was that the win hurt our "tank" and helped theirs! lol

That and Giddey needs more minutes.
I think he will be a player eventually.
Has a good command of passing in an offense, he can change directions AND speeds and knows how to use his size.

But Jalen has also showed me some positive signs the past 2 games.
I think he'll be a player too.

He was not the most efficient scorer tonight.

Have to feed the guys who are hot.

That was Wood, Tate and EGo.

And surprise, Porter too.

 

I dont mean to sound that harsh but if were gonna kill em when theyre bad we gotta give it to them when they show up even against bad teams is all

 

Barnes and Suggus can have 17+ shots while Green only has 11 shots.

 

Almost as crazy as crazy as putting four 19 year olds and one 20 year old in an offense with basically very little structure or set plays and saying....."Have at it dudes!"

On second thought, that's a WHOLE DIFFERENT LEVEL of crazy!!!

 

Just saying the 'sky is falling' people should be copping to the fact that they were acting pretty hysterical after one game.

personally i've said all along that this team will lose on most nights because/but there is a lot of young talent on this team.

but you'll also have nights like this where everything seems to click.

i think there would be better discussions on this forum if we just accepted that this team will be inconsistent and we don't have to go up and down the super-dramatic emotional roller coaster after every game.

i trust the process too, i think the rebuild is right on track
