I still think the crazy thing is that he also had a Regeneron treatment... Soooo I mean as long as we all have access to this it's all good! I mean we all have access to someone that will come do the treatment in our own homes, right? I know someone who didn't get the vaccine but luckily had access to regeneron and then called me to confirm they should do this "experimental treatment". I'm like "well... you didn't get the vaccine and this has been used for things like Zika etc. so you really have nothing to lose here. It either jump starts your recovery and you don't get really sick, or you pass the window of using it and probably/most likely get a lot worse.. but hey there's a chance you'll be fine, if I were in your shoes though... I'd take the regeneron". They took the regeneron and all is good. But trying to get some people on board with the vaccine has been a losing issue. It'd be easier to convert/teach someone any number of topics over this.
Some people fear vaccine b/c it's "experimental" but yet many of them have no problem with an "experimental" treatment (Regn anti-bodies). Of course, the anti-bodies treatment is still "experimental" (EUA) where as the vaccines are now approved and no longer under EUA.
I don’t get this at all. Regeneron for COVID-19 is just as new as the vaccines. It’s also made by a large pharmaceutical company and has been pushed by the government.
It's one big hypocrisy. The anti vaxxers that complain about unknowns concerning it have no problem pushing alternative treatments that have even more unknowns.
It's irresponsible because some idiots will hear that he's using the horse dewormer version of ivermectin on CNN and then will go out and use that unsafe version themselves. Guess darwinism though. They should clarify that there is a version of ivermectin that can be prescribed by doctors, but this has not been proven to be effective with fighting covid.
This whole thing shows why democracy does not work well in so many countries. If a country like the United Sates have so many irrational and/or uninformed people, how do we expect third world countries to make democracy work well?
Some very smart people have questioned the basic idea of democracy, and some smart Germans in the 1930's said a Nazi Germany doesn't happen unless you give desperate people the right to vote on their leaders. I don't have a pithy rejoinder to that idea. I prefer democracy to other forms, for sure, but an intelligence, benign monarchy should would be easier sometimes.
An intelligent and rational Monarch works better than democracy, the only problem is if you have nuts get in the office and you cannot remove them. However, that Hilter was elected and Trump will likely be elected again in 2024 doesn't show that democracy is that much better.
