Exactly. It was the 1st comic I remember being a crossover and forgot that it was the origin of Venom and She-Hulk being a member of FF. Why the hell is Marvel not giving it the Infinity Stones treatment? They don't even need to include all of the characters in the comic. Maybe once She-Hulk and the FF get established in the MCU they will give it a shot.
For me, they didn't really sell the motivation for the whole civil war enough. It was flat. Even though that event was concatenated by design in Cap 3, the MCU movies did a better job leading up to it. The MCU is definitely headed towards the Secret Wars event. But it might be the more recent Secret Wars which brought all of the Marvel comics universes together, sort of like Crisis on Infinite Earths with DC back in the day. You can see it with all of the multiverse stuff going on in the MCU right now and it's a very convenient and clever way to bring in the X-Men and possibly the Netflix shows (although those are probably going to be soft rebooted in the current MCU). It might end up being a hybrid of both the original SW and the newer SW, since the Russo Brothers, who directed Civil War, Infinity War and Endgame said that SW was a passion project they would love to do. It's hard to say no to the directors of some of the biggest box office movies ever. Scoreboard.
Yeah, the motivation was lacking, the triggering event was not disastrous enough, I think they destroyed an entire town, Young Mutants? Great to hear about the Russo Brothers doing SW they probably could get 3 movies out of it. I forgot they did a new SW, don't think I read it. I need to read up on what happened in SW II. I also need some Inhumans in my life.
lol. I completely forgot there was another Battleworld/Secret Wars event a few years ago. All this stuff is starting to get so mixed up with reboots, restarts, etc. Even in the comics, it's like the X-Men and other comics get a new "volume" every year. Once I get my new tv, I may subscribe to Disney Plus and start watching some of this.
Started out great, but it ended up a big mess to me. I don't think anything was resolved, then they went into Dark Avengers which was even worse They need to set that up and reintroduce the Fox characters. FF4, Surfer, let alone anything Xmen related. Could be epic...in 2033
Galactus, dammit... Galacuts!!! GIVE ME GALACTUS!!! And Adam Warlock so my Marvel Premiere #1 can maybe skyrocket in value... lol.
It would be hard to Galactus justice. They could never get the scale right and he was just too powerful.
Well, with modern CGI and whatnot, who knows. I'm curious to see how they handle Celestials in Eternals, because they're monstrous and just as powerful. They were something like half-a-mile tall in comic books. Assuming they play a big role in the movie, of course. And of course they already did Thanos & the Infinity Gems, so in terms of power, Galactus wouldn't be on that level. As long as you don't have him walking around on land too much (lol), I think they could do it. It'd still be trippy to watch. They just need to do something on a cosmic level where a bunch of the abstract entities, Galactus, Watcher, etc. are all involved. Now that's a super-hero movie -- not one of these "oh no, my dude with a cape and underoos has a drinking problem... what shall he dooooo?" movies. One can dream ...
I won't pretend to know all the stories, but there was a comic where Nick Fury hires Wolverine to kill Hulk. I could definitely see a storyline where Hulk suffers some huge tragedy, goes crazy, turns red and no one can stop him. Bam, post credit scene, Fury approaches Wolverine and bam Xmen introduced into avengerverse.
At least it won't be the Ultimates 'cloud' version of Galactus that we saw in Fantastic Four 2. It is probably a little more realistic than a giant dude going around eating planets, but come on, Galactus is timeless. Pretty good idea. Red Hulk isn't Banner, though.
After reading this, I'm all on board. By powerful, I just remember the FF really had nothing to hurt him, and pretty much he had to be lured away. But I am sold, it needs to made
The Ultimate Nullifier ... possibly the most powerful weapon ever invented. No matter how powerful anything is in the Marvel Universe, the good guys have to eventually win, right? I mean look how many times the FF has repelled a Galactus invasion. Speaking of which, I want to see how the Celestials are incorporated into Eternals... if they're going to need to be "repelled", too, I want to see how.
