seeing Jaylen Brown yesterday, his skill development over the years has been phenomenal KPJr and Green need to hit up Harden’s trainers in the offseason for some skill work…matter of fact, Jalen needs to get with Harden all summer along with living in the weight room, and KPJr can stop it with the open runs against no-names and shooting jumpers in the gym with Chris Brickley…maybe spend some time with a shooting specialist
My thing is...if you can criticize Stone for picking Green over Mobley (which means you kinda sorta don't trust his judgment with a high pick)...then why/how are you going to trust him next summer if/when we get another high pick?
Facts. Green needs to realize that the NBA stands for No Boys Allowed and get in the freaking weight room. His lack of physicality is a big reason he stinks on defense and is reluctant to drive to the basket at times. He needs strength in the worst way and adding that will open up his game.
Idk. Look at JA. Green needs to tighten his handle mostly and be aggressive down hill. Brown, Beal and Lavine all had good muscle build as rookies. I know Green is friends with Ja so I think they should get together.
He also needs to work on his shooting form. Hit up Booker this summer. Booker is still thin and smaller side but gets his shot off against most defenders with ease.
Lavine was a twig and weighed 181 lbs, just like Green feel like Green would be better off working with established greats with high BBIQ that can teach him some things, and Harden came with something new every offseason so his trainers must be doing something right…man developed 1 of the best floater games overnight…also produced a deadly stepback three in just 1 offseason between 16-17 and 17-18
I was watching OKC last night against Utah and that young team looks rough. If Jalen Green doesn't have a breakout performance tomorrow night against the Thunder there will be more cause for concern.
He is not Lavine at all. Lavine is more mechanical in jumping, shooting. I don't see Lavine in Jalen Green. In Jalen see a glider, jumps effortlessly, can do reverse layups. Can pass already at a young age. Jalen Green needs experience and getting used to traveling and workouts, practice and teammates. Rookies get overwhelmed but Jalen is such a positive person. When Salman Ali sounded negative "What happened in the 2nd Quarter" Jalen easily would've gotten angry but his personality is positive and happy. He believes in himself and will improve. Jalen Green is a hard worker, results will come. Stephen Silas said Jalen is there Before Practice, Practice, After Practice Even at night putting up shots and working out. Having naps in the locker room. Jalen is a tireless worker which is rare. He wants to be a Franchise Player.
“I see a glider, jumps effortlessly, can do reverse layups.” u literally just described Zach Lavine tho Green has a more mechanical looking jumper than Lavine…Lavine’s shot is a lot smoother and looks more effortless
I’m glad Jalen Green is getting a dose of reality. If he wants that rookie of the year award he’s gona have to show something.
I feel sorry for Jalen because a lot of these other rookies had people around them there were good at the game of basketball so there's someone to learn from directly. Jalen aint learning nothng from these bums and this bum coach.
I agree, I agree. It's just that fan experience doesn't have to be rational - expectations to be a legend isn't fair - but isn't irrational outcome a big part of a sports fan experience? Isn't that why this is an escape and not work?
no doubt…just don’t want to see him getting crushed on here based off expectations he shouldn’t be having, and after just 1 regular season game at that when there are countless examples of guys starting off their career horribly with the most recent example being Anthony Edwards and LaMelo it would’ve been great if Green dropped 25 points last night, but his play up to this point isn’t cause for alarm…he is not the 1st nor will he be the last high lotto pick to start off their career as a subpar player and still end up being a good player Lamelo and Edwards the entire preseason and after their 1st regular season game showed no reason for why they should be good, but look at them now not even a year later we should want Green to come out of the gate on fire, but there was always a good chance that wasn’t gonna be the case…at least that’s how I always viewed it which is why I would always mention how Beal and Lavine weren’t even good until year 5 Green is 180 lbs and won’t be efficient…lack of strength will make it hard for him to finish and he doesn’t have PG handles to just get wherever he wants despite being physically weak
Kobe didnt start out all that well either. For the record everyone says that about every rookie. Go and check how many "steal of the draft" posts there are on youtube. And thats how you know this boards lack of experience when it comes to rookies. NO ONE KNOWS ITS ALL JUST GUESSING.
Lmao everybody wants Jalen to get with everybody in the NBA. He needs to work on his passing .. make sure he hits up CP3 while he at it… also needs to work on his aggressiveness and defense… hit up Pat Bev too this summer.
