Semi-practice swing. Adjusts gloves. Takes a practice swing. Puts one foot in box. Leans back. Takes a breathe. Puts other foot in box. Takes time getting ready in box. Finally is ready for pitch. Sometimes he asks for time and that process repeats.

 

If you cant intimidate your opponent, then you distract them.

 

OK. I thought he might have had to take a Pee Break during an AB. When you gotta go, you gotta go.

 

The only thing Yordan can't beat is the CRAZY expectations we've had since 2019.

I've penciled in Odorizzi, but Garcia is also on full rest. I think you go with the guy who gets through the first inning the best and I don't think either does particularly well in the first. But my memory is not necessarily accurate on the matter since I've missed the first inning of so many games.

 

Garcia if healthy. Odorizzi if not. Both followed by a lot of relief innings. If Astros have lead late in game, at some point Pressly will get up in pen. It might be ninth. It might be 8th. He might even get up in the 7th if he's feeling good.

 

All signs point Garcia, but should be Odorizzi.

Garcia hasn't posted a FIP under 4 in his last 6 starts. Everything is screaming he should be shut down as the number of pitches/innings this season has probably gotten the best of him.

Odorizzi's FIP over his last 5 starts is 2.47 (granted his relief appearance the other day was 7.17, but that would be better than either of Garcia's postseason starts by a good margin).

There really isn’t a “should be the starter” between Garcia and Odorizzi. It’s a pick ‘em. For the record I’d go Garcia.
