Also, even after Alvarez, why not let sale pitch one more time to Carlos. It was clear Carlos was being dominated. Seemed like a poor decision on several fronts. Correa got picked up today in the end and that was good to see.
It's important that the Sox fans remember that women and children should abandon the sinking ship first. Let's not be animals.
I know he’s old and has been questioned a lot by the ClutchFans think tank, but as a casual baseball fan I think DB has been spot-on the entire postseason with his pitcher use strategy. Decision-making when to hook and when to stay with a guy has been excellent. Some decisions have looked odd on the surface, but when explained made a lot of sense and have generally worked. For example the weird Graveman/Pressly 8th/9th switcharoo. Or putting Yimmy G. out there after he blew the previous game. I hope I don’t jinx him, I expect game 6 and 7 to feature gazillion pitchers by both teams and how to use them will in large part decide the outcome, IMO. For the early innings my prediction is: G6: Odorizzi-SP, Garcia, Garcia G7: Urquidy-SP, Greinke, Javier And the late-inning crew will be fully available both days. Go Stros!
Looking forward to Passan’s article. Astros so good they flipped Boston’s rogue camera guy to work for them. Houston operating at another level.
I have to give credit where credit is due. Even though I think Dusty sucks as a regular season manager and cost us about 5 games, I can't find too much fault with what he has done in the playoffs.
Twenty-one of our thirty-one runs scored in the series thus far have come with two outs. Just incredible!!!
Yes. The 94mph fastball literally down the middle of the plate was the bigger issue in that at bat than the lack of an intentional walk. Correa or any of the Astros 1-8 hitters would likely have done damage with that pitch.
Well you can't complain about our own manager bc we won the game handedly, you have to find the next closest available manager to hate on.
