Nathan Eovaldi is gonna regret not signing with the Houston Astros on Friday.

Third time in a week. They figured him out last night.

He most certainly is done for the series. We have every reliever available for Game 6 and 7 now.

Because they want him to start game #1 of the World Series and the Astros will take this series regardless. ;)

I don’t think Boston is out of this series yet. Garcia is a shell of himself and they might not pitch Javier until game seven.

There was no scenario Valdez would pitch games 6 or 7 (on 1 or 2 days rest). So the idea was to use him as much as possible - I'd have let him pitch the 9th too.

You are probably not bringing him back on 2 days rest. Plus our bullpen is taxed.

Hopefully Garcia was bad because he was actually hurt and tipping and hopefully he's healthy now and they fixed his tipping.

And he wasn't sharp, and we don't know how he'll look in game 6

Wow....what could someone complain about today ? My goodness...I have my weak moments but I am elated at how things have shaken out. Framber and offense were pure GOLD !

He had two Ks and was a borderline call from striking out the side. I think he was plenty sharp until Altuve.

Eovaldi is a pitcher who has a ton of experience bouncing around between starting and relieving - and he was really ineffective. Framber is a young pitcher who hasn't pitched once out of the bullpen this year and the Astros aren't going to mess with his health or effectiveness in a game 7 of a playoff series.

lol Eovaldi’s last relief appearance prior to last night was August 2019.
