I think the factor that we all underestimated with LMJ's injury is how much it was going to tax the rest of our bull pen. I know we all were thinking that it was only 12 innings that he would have pitched this series, but having use our bull pen every single game for the whole series starting at the 2nd and 3rd inning is a nightmare scenario.

I don’t mind letting Maldy hit if McCormick can get on. I’d let him lay down a sac bunt. Otherwise, they need to hit for him.
If Chas gets on, Maldy needs to bunt or lean into one. I don't care if there's two strikes; he needs to be bunting.
