I would guess barring a disaster in Game 3 with Urquidy, you have a bullpen game with either Greinke or Javier starting and the two of them hopefully giving you at least 5 combined innings.

I don't know what happens beyond that though. I would assume Valdez in Game 5 since you kinda have no other choice. But what happens if you get it back to MMP for Game 6? No way Garcia gets another start. Urquidy wouldn't be available til Game 7 on full rest.

Well, this got out of hand in a hurry.
This is the downside of depending on so many young starters. Also, James Click has yet to add an impact piece as GM.

Well I was worried I was going to have to miss the 8th and 9th inning due to a previous commitment. Now it might not matter so much.

This series could look bad just like in 2018.

    2018 ALCS:
    1. Astros win in Boston
    2. Boston Wins in Boston
    3. Boston Wins in Houston
    4. Boston Wins in Houston
    5. Boston Wins in Houston
Red Sox won the Series 4-1.

    We're heading that way again.

The booth with a great anecdote about making the pitching work. this is why baseball is so fascinating. there's a ripple effects throughout the game and series despite being down 1 million runs.

Astros still have a job to do.

At this point probably not worth it to sacrifice any more pitchers unless you have relievers who need to get some throwing time but definitely Stro batters shouldn't give up.

At the minimum it will be psychologically important to put up a few runs.

The goal for this half inning is to only give up a 3 run HR.

I just don’t see a way for the Astros to overcome their staff to win this series. We have no reliable starters.
