I'm totally on board with an offer in the 5-6 year range with an AAV of approx. 30 mil. If he wants to break the bank, he won't stay, sadly.
I agree with you. But I am sure, he's going to try and get as much as he can, which is understandable. He should. I wish there was a way to keep him.
$330 million, 14-year contract is Fernando Tatis' contract signed this year. This is going to be where Correa be at. Both are injury-prone, but well worth the risk.
Let’s go my CF family. Huge game here. make sure for anyone is at the game to annoy Eovaldi “I’m from Houston but talk **** all day”
At this point I'm fine with him breaking the bank. Set up a 5 year window and then worry about the end of his career when it happens.
Shoutout to Javier who has come in twice and done his thing to keep his team in the game these playoffs: 4.2 IP, 1H, and TEN strikeouts.
Tatis is not a good comp. He is way younger and they locked him up well before he hit the free market (meaning Tatis gave a little for long term security when the Padres still controlled him for several more years). If Tatis was on the free market like Correa is, he would get more than that 330 for 14 years at his age. I think Correa ends up getting 350 over 10.
Love Correa but I’m not interested in a 8-10 year deal. Have any of those ever worked out well? Seems like every one of the them has been a disaster for the team. Correa is great but I’d prefer the flexibility moving forward. I’d like to see us splash on a ToR guy.
I still believe Syndergaard can be a Cy Young caliber pitcher, get him with Strom and you’ll see Cole-esque magic return. Ray? Rodon? Stroman? All these guys have the same problem as Correa, they’re really good, but get injured all the time.
Ball took a crazy bounce before @'ing the ball boy. He didn't have time to stand up and do anything major
