It ain't that bad, at least for this series. McCullers would have pitched once in the first 6 games of the series. So for about 6 out of 54 innings. I was originally thinking Astros in 5, so maybe it'll be Astros in 6. Astros won 5 out of 7 against Boston this season. Lance pitched in none of those game
And considering the margin of victory against the White Sox... we could have had Cosart, Lyles, Straily, and Wolf out there and still won.
Odorizzi was probably the Astros second best starting pitcher the last 1-2 months of the season. He's got something to prove now.
I think we’re the better team top to bottom, but we all know that doesn’t always matter in October. Hopefully our pitchers pitch to their capabilities and potential, if so then we should be fine.
I just read an article on this type of injury and watched a video on it as well. An elbow doctor said that this injury can heal rather quickly depending on the severity. Sometimes as soon as 2 weeks and could take up to 6 weeks. Ironically, as I read up on this injury I quickly realized I had this same injury when I was younger. I remember specifically throwing a slider in a game and felt tightness/ soreness on the inner side of my forearm closer to my elbow and afterwards I felt pain on the “funny bone” of the elbow… especially when I rubbed it. It also hurt to bend the elbow after pitching, but not excruciating by any means. I said all that to say that I think there is an outside shot of Lance potentially being available in a reliever role for the WS.
hey man , my boi Jordan lyles is serviceable also , wolf was legit , he was just ancient by the time we got him . the other two , yeah lmao how many years did we have straily for ?
Two week minimum recovery time on that injury. The WS starts exactly 2 weeks after Lance got the injury. Considering he's going to be shut down for 2 weeks the best you could hope for is an inning or 2 of relief late in a WS.
You've gotta be kiddin me! We 'll get past the Red Sox without Lance. It's the WS, presumably against LA, where this might be an issue. (depending on Lance's status) Astros in 5 -6.
All the money going onto the Astros as we get closer to first pitch. Open at - 140, East Coast juke down to -130,..As of now we're at 145 -150 and moving up.
Yup... same injury Odorizzi had when he hurt it on April 29th. His first rehab appearance was May 18th. Most likely McCullers is done or if he pushes it a reliever in the WS.
