I know you're being facetious, but that's ok.

As we said back in the day, during sports and such, 20 years or so ago:

"**** it all and ****ing no regrets."

They both suck and always have.

That is just my opinion though, and it means just about nothing.

Before the Monsters of Rock 88 Show at Rice Stadium I would have voted Van Halen. After that I'd have to lean into Metallica.

But Lars is a douche and James' ego is overbearing and their catalog sucks starting with the Black album.

But then you have the Van Hagar days so really it all evens out. I'd almost call this a draw give Metallica the edge based on live performances (if I can exclude the stupid "seek and destroy" sing along they started as they became more popular.

But damn this is such a groove

Metallica pioneered a new genre that continues. VH did not.

Sorry, but anyone that posts a Gary Cherone era VH video loses their right to vote. :p

A lot of the Van Hagar stuff isn't so bad either, IMO. In fact, you won't find a riff that isn't catchy or a dull solo on any of them.

Some of my favorite Hagar era stuff off the top of my head...
