and looks like it won’t hurt next season which is great news.
Also gives hope that he might be able to pitch in some capacity in World Series if we get there.

Clearly every team he faces on the road is stealing signs...

The vast majority of players are better at home than on the road (our offense being a notable exception), so not a surprise Garcia would be no different. It would be interesting though to pinpoint exactly why that is.

The bats know what they need to do.

Odorizzi and Greinke have to step up. Greinke’s opportunity to put a vintage stamp on a HOF career and for Odo to prove his worth.

I still feel really good about this matchup

LMJ pitches at some point this series imo. He would have been ruled out already if he was really done after the mri, so everyone can move forward without that question mark pending

Look, not having Lance will absolutely suck. There's no sugar-coating it. However, Lance at his best accounts for probably 11-12 innings in this series total. He's not cut from the Verlander/Cole/Scherzer cloth where you could pencil them in for 7 (sometimes 8 when they're really dealing) solid innings in a playoff start. The bullpen/remainder of the starting rotation was ALWAYS going to have to pick up a ton of slack in this series (as well as the World Series if we get there). You just have to hope that Framber, Luis, and Urquidy can give us solid starts when it's their turn, and the bullpen can pick up the rest. The offense will get its chances, and you just have to believe that they will hit when it matters. The formula for success doesn't really change all that much with or without Lance.

Lance will come back in Game 7 of the ALCS to pitch a perfect 7-8-9 for an Astros W.

he also responded to someone who said “no news then” with “read between the lines” … which clearly means he is out for postseason but Heyman won’t report in because it isn’t official.

which sucks. But it’s always been about the offense. Time for Correa to make himself another $100,000,000

Astros are screwed. Our best pitcher is worth 1.5 wins this series.

We have enough to make this a competitive series. Our offense will have to play at an elite level.

Our pitchers have been inconsistent but are talented enough to have a 10 game run of excellence in then.
It's happened before in the postseason.

I think they'll be fine. I thought Urquiddy should have been the 3rd starter regardless (if healthy), and he hasn't even had to pitch yet... they have depth.

Greinke, Odorizzi are forgotten names that will likely need to throw some innings now. Framber dominated the Red Sox during the season... hopefully he can now be the ace he has the capability of (and was in last years post-season). Whatever quality innings they can get from Garcia at this point, you take it... but he's thrown a lot more pitches than ever expected to this year.

If the Astros slug the weaker Red Sox pitching, as they should, I believe they'll be able to piece together enough innings with the current staff. While they were hot AF against Tampa, this is still a young team that no longer has Betts, Bennentendi, JBJ... hell, even Steve Pearce killed for them that year.

Huge opportunity for both Odo and Greinke. I know they haven’t pitched great but at this point i think they give the Astros as good a chance as any SP outside of Framber. I don’t like how Garcia has looked the last month.

One thing that might be interesting is for them to go ahead and use 5 SP. Gives each guy the chance to have the game of his life while giving the opponent 5 different pitchers to plan for. Not like there’s a huge drop off from Garcia/Urquidy to Odo/Greinke. If Meyers is hurt I’d just as soon see them add another pitcher rather than add Marwin. May even add 2 pitchers and take Stubbs off the roster.

The Astros have enough to win the ALCS, although it would be a much tougher series without Lance.

I don't know how they defeat the Giants or Dodgers though. Especially given that we'd have one less effective hitter in the lineup and a weaker defense 4 out of the 7 games with the DH out of the picture.

So here's me praying the Braves pull off the massive upset in the NLCS(and/or McCullers recovers in time for the World Series).

I think we can beat Boston without him, but we need him back for the Dodgers or Giants.

I wouldn't roster him if he can't go until Game 7 though... That extra roster spot in these marathon games is needed.

Forearm tightness? I believe, Lance said his ligaments feels fine. Thanks to Tommy John.
