Not seeing or sensing any such conflict.

    Team is tight.

It just lacks identity and direction.

The other big purpose of preseason games is to give players a chance to show what they can do - especially players on the bubble who may be cut or sent down, and to also allow players to experiment and try things they may not necessarily be in their conform zone.

If Silas is frowning and looking pissed, it's because its exactly that - the players aren't following the schemes. Do you think Silas doesn't have an offensive philosophy or structure? Of course he does. But it takes time for players to learn an NBA offense. It's complex. The fact that the Rockets have a lot of turnovers is indicative that they are operating out of their comfort zone. They are making mistakes and it looks like they aren't 100% sure of what they are doing.

Well guess what, when you are learning something new that's what happens. It takes more than a few weeks of practice to get a system drilled in. It takes months and months. Repetition and buying in.

I just think people are expecting way too much way too early from a very young group of players. This isn't Harden, CP3, Ariza, PJ, Gordon, etc out there. These are players who have one year or less of NBA experience with the exception of really Wood

This strategy makes too much sense.

Or throw caution to the wind and start Sengun over Theis.

This here is on point! The rotations are off and everything about what we're doing doesn't make sense. I have no idea what we're doing with both Wood and Theis on the floor.

He runs the “thoughts and prayers” offense.

Getting a top pick in the 2022 draft.

Seriously, the goal should be player development right now, not wins.

If they loose because the guys are just not talented, that is one thing. But allowing them to develop with bad habbits is another. This is why as much as we should go young I still think a vet like Ariza/Nene/Derek Fisher was to Harden is very important for the players growth. Proper player positioning, good habbits, proper basketball IQ...

Well I think we have been spoiled to good coaching or once in a generation player to cover up bad coaching. Some of this just is not okay. Watching the game is hard because we have seen so much better for so long. Even last year was better than this year, I thought it was better because we rotated through so many different players that nothing really had time to stick. No that is Silas. I understand why veterans wanted to go or went on IR and never came off. I thought it was the players, but the more I see the more I understand.

I think lineup wise, KPJ needs to be surrounded by the “vets” in Gordon, Tate, Wood, and Theiss.

Have the bench unit anchored by Sengun, Green, and Garuba with KMJ and Augustin rounding it out. This would give the units identity and put some better structure around KPJ and Green. I don’t think KPJ and Green should be paired together at this point in their development.

That is very much common sense coaching; I agree. Can Silas come up with this? Christopher needs to be worked into vets lineup, too. Tate can run double duty by helping level out the rookies, too. We have a really neat opportunity to see some of the best talent grow.

We need Gordon to start and have Green not a 1st option in the lineup. He might needs to start just because of the marketing stuff.... Tate and Nwaba plays well together and it would be a great unit including Sengun and Brooks also.

Alperen Sengun being a Starter can open up the floor. He is a Point Center. No other Point Guard on the Rockets can do what he does.

I think he has better Court Awareness and a better Passer. He can pass across the court easily to find a open 3 point shooter.

Theis and Wood do not play well together.

Theis cannot rebound or rim protect worth a damn.

Wood at the 4 is stupid.

Because Wood is worlds better 5 than Theis.

    Play Garuba in starting 5.

Win or lose, let's start developing this players.

    1st Unit
    Scoot
    EGo
    Tate
    Garuba
    Wood

    2nd Unit
    Green
    Snipa
    Nwaba
    KJ
    Sengun (point center)

Nah. Stick to the vets with KPJ to start the season then go from there. I wouldn't expect much defense is being played in the pre season so I wouldn't look too much into Wood and Theis preseason. Can always move Garuba around if need be, but Theis was a decent defender at Boston.

Yeah but the only thing with that is he wasn't the head coach. He had a hand in structuring the offense I'm sure but he wasn't THE guy. The interpersonal skills are there amd I'm sure the players love him but those players got the benefit of all the good things Silas has as far as a mentor and a real NBA offense. I could and hope that I'm wrong but I really think young player need more structure than this. They need to have some offensive success and set plays and offensive movement will get them easy buckets. It's early days but it's something I'll be watching for sure

They have wall and gordon don't forget, and c'mon, silas has enough experience to cover those basics. We can't seriously be worried about things like that.

Young players who are talented don't perform all that great. Lebron didn't even shoot out of the low 40% his rookie year even with all those dunks he had.
