Remind me...who was the one that didn't want to do the transaction of Butler for Capela and Gordon? Morey? Layden? Fertitta? Glen Taylor? Or was that just the rumor?

As for Harden and CP3 not getting along, it's not a surprise because NBA players don't get along all the time and still make it work.

It's the first time in a longass time that this team is at the bottom of the ladder so it makes the new members/fans (who have been spoiled by the Harden era) a bit anxious and is also making the older members/fans have a PTSD moment when we rolled out Keith Bogans as our starting guard.

Harden and Paul were on board with a trade for Butler…. However Butler ended up going to Miami after meeting with Dwayne Wade.

The goal for Harden was never to get rid of Paul at all costs.

I never fully bought into the notion that Harden wanted to get rid of Paul (especially for Westbrook). Like it was a solid marriage...not perfect but solid. Harden went and did what Harden usually do during the regular season (e.g. dominate) and when the post season rolls around he had Paul to rely on during crunch time and Paul knew that. Too bad they don't make hamstrings like they used to....

Ahh ok. I was beginning to wonder. Feels like many are so quick to argue and are digging their heels in on the smallest of subject matters. I just assumed everyone was still going a little stir crazy given the pandemic.

Harden couldn’t rely on Chris Paul in 18-19

Kyrie is the only player who wouldn’t surprised if they straight up just retired while still in the prime of their career playing at a star level…and not on some MJ sh*t, but just because of stubbornness and foolishness

this dude seems to feed off of generating chaos, drama, and being a contrarian

he must have attention to function whether it’s via claiming the earth is flat, burning sage in the arena pre-game, and now this

at 1st I thought Kyrie was just a bit eccentric, but this dude thrives off of chaos

And they seem to be okay with each other now. Chris Paul still likes Harden's insta stuff. And they were cool whenever they see each-other. If you listen to Gilbert Arenas podcast with Chris, you'll see that Chris wished he could talked even more things through with James about stuff(it was mostly regarding 4th quarter responsibilities).

I think Durant's long term health is a concern. Good for him to get that extension. But he has missed more than half of the games in 3 of the last 7 seasons. And he is 33.

Harden is the most durable one of the Big 3. He has not signed an extension yet. I think this coming season is crucial to his commitment to the Nets.

his trade value gotta be close to zero

How can u trust him if you’re another team? This is 3 straight situations that have turned disastrous. Plus he can opt out of his contract after this season.

He told KD to come join him in BK, they’re a contender, and he’s doing KD like this with all the constant drama. If they didn’t trade for Harden, they’d be screwed. At the time of the Harden trade, he was off on some sabbatical away from the team. He seems to be too volatile.

Multiple sources with direct knowledge of Irving’s decision have told The Athletic that Irving is not anti-vaccine and that his stance is that he is upset that people are losing their jobs due to vaccine mandates. It’s a stance that Irving has explained to close teammates. To him, this is about a grander fight than the one on the court and Irving is challenging a perceived control of society and people’s livelihood, according to sources with knowledge of Irving’s mindset. It is a decision that he believes he is capable to make given his current life dynamics. “Kyrie wants to be a voice for the voiceless,” one source said.

However, the nation’s top doctors and science have cleared the vaccine as safe and effective. The Center for Disease Control (CDC), American Medical Association (AMA) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) state clearly that COVID-19 vaccines are effective at helping protect against severe disease and death, including from variants of the virus, while also being safe. In fact, multiple studies showed that 99 percent of people who are in intensive care units in hospitals are unvaccinated. Sources say 96 percent of NBA players are currently vaccinated. More than 3.75 billion people worldwide have received a vaccine dose. To be clear, Irving’s stance is not believed to be anti-science, according to sources.

Rival teams believe the Nets would be open to a significant trade offer for Irving, but his openness to playing for other franchises is unclear. Irving will be fully eligible in all markets except New York City and San Francisco. Brooklyn is on a championship chase, wanting the commitment of every player on their roster, now dealing with the cloud of uncertainty regarding a member of its big three.

Does Kyrie even like basketball? it feels like he using basketball to fund the stuff he really wants to do. He needs to just quit and be an ambassador or something.

Irving has made more than $160 million over his NBA contracts and has a massive Nike shoe endorsement deal, so those who know Irving understand he is not driven right now by money, nor cares for inheriting more, but rather the stand for larger issues in his mind that need his support. He’s a seven-time All-Star, two-time All-NBA member and former Rookie of the Year who now stands to lose over $200 million by deciding to use his platform to stand up for his stance of each and every person being able to decide for themselves on whether they should take the vaccine without impacts on job statuses.

Easily Kyrie's people trying to do as much damage control as possible. If Kyrie actually cared about people's livelihoods being impacted by the pandemic, he'd get vaccinated and still play out the season but also pull a Jrue and donate a big chuck of change to social issues. Something like this:

    https://www.thebirdwrites.com/2020/...ystemic-racism-black-lives-matter-new-orleans

    https://bleacherreport.com/articles...-donate-1m-to-black-led-nonprofits-businesses

Instead, Kyrie looks like a virtue-signaler with his unwillingness to get vaccinated. "Hey look! Y'all got fired for not getting the shot. Although I'm not fired from my own job, me sitting out is like me being one of you! #togetherness"

    :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
