Where is the option for Tillman is broke and can't afford Brooks, so we will do a song and dance like we did with House.
9/16 from 3's this preseason. That is 56% shooting from 3's. Some of his shots weren't even set up and heaves but still is 56% shooter. Time to cut him. We can't be having any three point sharpshooters on this team.
SnipaBrooks is my 2nd fav player on this team. Watch the podcast he did with his childhood friend talking about the day the Rockets picked him up. Also he's not afraid to take the shot in crunch time and he'll hit them too. I see him driving a lot more this pre-season, clearly he's been working to expand his game a bit so he's not so predictable.
David Nwaba, Daniel Theis, Eric Gordon, Danuel House are making more than Armoni Brooks. Armoni Brooks has played better than all of them. Rafael needs to sign him to a better deal. The bench scoring can be the worst in the NBA especially when Eric Gordon and Danuel House get injured again.
I'm really starting to wonder how they keep Brooks .... There's 15 players on the current roster they have to make a roster move to make a spot for him . The obvious candidates are Wall (not really) , EG (probably not?) , Augustin & House. They already have Bey & Lamb on two ways , they'd have to cut one of them loose to make Brooks that offer. I prefer Brooks over either of them. The signing of Exum really complicated this situation .... @BimaThug what do you see happening here ?
Shooting never goes out of style and is always in demand. The biggest achilles heel for the contending teams with Harden was that we never had guys like Snipa to take and make the open shots. Lock him up!
Bey and Lamb should be let go. Exum and Augustine are redundant, I personally would prefer to keep Exum who is cheaper and a better defensive player. If he gets hurt again he doesn’t cost as much and it will just mean we can give more minutes to the young guys. We aren’t going to win much this year anyway. Brooks needs to be signed because he is a sharp shooter. It would be nice if he could get better at other aspects of his game so that he could be more than just a situational guy and make a player like Nwaba expendable.
This is a no-brainer. They should convert Brooks to a two-way contract. Let him play on that contract and see how he does. They can either convert him to a multi-year standard NBA contract later in the season or make him a restricted free agent again next summer. This situation isn't rocket science.
