Wonder if Morey learned his lesson and actually put his best offer as his first offer this time around?

Not quite the same situation since Harden can become a free agent after this offseason. Morey could easily hold on to Ben Simmons and unload him to some sucker with cap space in the offseason and create a large TE.

Yea but does he really want to play that game right now and would Brooklyn accept anything less than a package that has Simmons in it? Harris would have to be included in lieu of Simmons and while he's a nice 3rd banana, it might not be enough to convince Durant to stay even if Morey added in both Maxey and Thybulle.

I can see Harden getting very passive aggressive.

He has yet to fall off the face of the Earth...

...he is essentially Arian Foster of the NBA with less... rationality.

I just realized I read everything this guy writes in his exasperated shouting voice. It's like reverse Morgan Freeman.

Latest Lowe Post Podcast discusses what he thinks of Brooklyn with and without Kyrie this season. (Spoiler : varying level of title favorite either way)

Good listen for those interested in the topic.

Also as much as I want this to be the reason this team implodes much earlier than expected….Durant signed long term and I don’t see why they just don’t say goodbye to Kyrie and Harden happily re-signs in the off-season to the bigger contract to continue to play with Durant and a pretty nice group of role players. At that point the only “hope” is age catching up with them health wise quickly.

I didn’t mean this season really at all. A bit I guess. I just mean over the next 5 years it will statistically increase over time.

Harden isn't passive aggressive behind closed doors at all. He told Howard he was a clown. He told McHale he didn't know what he was doing. If there is a problem between Harden and Irving, it will be told to Irving. Now I can see KD and JH deciding that they are going to run the show in the interim.... but my guess is that Kyrie's antics will be fine with KD and JH if they believe he will show up for the playoffs.

feels like the CP3 era was peak Harden passive aggressiveness though. Ariza was even telling CP3 to not waste his energy.

There was more to it than people know. Lets just say that Chris Paul and James Harden both argued with each other and rubbed each other the wrong way. FWIW Harden didn't want Chris Paul dealt, he wanted to add TO Chris Paul. The player that really was thrown under the bus was Clint Capela..... both Paul and Harden were cool with dealing him for Jimmy Butler.
