That tweet came out on June 19th. Since then Durant has signed an extension and Harden said he wasn't that far away from signing one as well. Even if you project both players to fall of the cliff and past their respective primes next season, that team would still be a 40 win team. Unless you're suggesting that Durant demands a trade elsewhere one year after signing his extension and/or Harden saying "thanks but no thanks" to re-upping with Brooklyn and forcing a trade somewhere else.

Still, I don't want to misunderstand what you meant by "looking good". Please help me understand that part.

@steddinotayto do you happen to know if this means Qyrie would be forfeiting all of his game checks?

Kyrie being difficult is just Harden being unlucky again IMO. there is always something.

he should have showed up in shape

I'm no expert by any means but even if the Nets could recoup any part of Irving's salary I doubt they would do it. They still want him on the team and they want to keep him as well as Durant and Harden long term. Even if trading him due to this vaccination situation is a possibility I doubt Brooklyn wants a situation where both the team and Kyrie are on bad terms. But of course who knows what they are plotting behind the scenes in the event Kyrie really misses all home games, including playoffs. I'm still in the belief that a Kyrie for Simmons straight up is still the best deal for both teams. I don't believe Pennsylvania has the same vaccination mandate (though I'm not 100% certain on that) so that could offer an opportunity for Kyrie to play.

Nets can only hope Kyrie caves…Simmons eventually did once he woke up and realized how much money he was lighting on fire

the head of the players’ union said that there wasn’t an agreement that money will be withheld for games missed due to unavailability via Covid restrictions, but Woj claimed otherwise

Kyrie just missing home games would have had him losing almost 19 mil

Will Kyrie cave? Will he close his 3rd eye? Find out on the next episode

Wow one should never go full Kyrie, even Kyrie himself.

Injuries man injuries. Durant is getting older. The % of something happening will increase every season.

Once he start to lose money to buy those walking sticks Irving will change his tune.

Outside of last year when he started the season out of shape and fat, Harden has been durable as hell. Even if he takes 1/4 season off having Harden for 60 games can still get the Nets to 40 wins.

Don't get me wrong; if the Nets collapse I'm right there with @Mr. Space City and everyone else in jumping for joy. But it would be an absolute and unprecedented scenario for this team to go from heavy title favorites to lottery bound.

If Morey had gotten Harden last year, Philly would be the favorites for the title

all this Kyrie nonsense hits different when it’s just KD and role players remaining, but with Harden there, it eases the blow of him going on hiatus like last season or straight up just not playing at all like this season
