KPJr has had some atrocious looking bricks

this team can’t shoot as usual

When was the last time we were a legitimately good shooting team?

 

Like Sengun?

It's called a fast break.

And I'd rather Wood not throw any long outlet passes if he is not accurate, he obviously feels comfortable running down court with ball before iniating early offense.

Unlike JC or the other rotation players who try to throw cross court passes and have it intercepted.

PLAY TO YOUR STRENGTHS

AND MINIMIZE YOUR WEAKNESSES

 

He shot 33% from 3.

Green shot 20% from 3.

 

Of course there needs to be a system.

But Simmons is not a newbie point.

Porter can still learn the position while keeping the team competitive.

 

They are running pick and roll much anymore according to wood its not the system so Simmons would be useless.

 

I’m just going off what I witnessed in the 1st half…2 ISO step back bricks, an airball at the end of the shot clock so I won’t count that, and a spot up at the top of the key that I think hit nothing but backboard

 

Trust me, Porter played better than Green.

They were both really bad this game, but Green had 7 turnovers on top of his inefficient offense.

 

When they start running PnR then it will be a revelation.

And Simmons in PnR with Wood would be impossible to stop.

And Simmons as screener for Scoot or Green would also be devastating. Simmons sets physical almost violent screens.

Simmons can also do a lot of damage in dunkers spot.

 

Right I agree with that. But didnt Wood just say the new system limits pick and roll and focuses on the corner three? The one set I saw them run never worked. Toronto always stopped the ball.

 

Correct, I'm proposing MORE pick and roll/pop for THIS team.

Static 5 out does not optimize the skills of players on this team.

Not enough 3ball specialists.

 

Scottie Barnes would look good in Rocket red.

 

You have to admit it was funny though watching him try to be Harden..... on back to back possessions.

 

Send kpj with Wood for Simmons

 

KPJ and Wood are more talented than Simmons will ever be.

It is still preseason.

The 1994 Rockets lost in preseason by 40 points, Hakeem was awful that game, yet he was relaxed. Rudy said this is the bus that goes to the bar, let's go. Rookie Sam Cassell was upset and excited.

 

Simmons is AllStar something which might be their roof, especially Wood

 

Ben Simmons is extremely Overrated by the Philadelphia Big Market Media.

Ben personality and overspending on cars and a huge mansion in LA.

I don't want this Diva on the Rockets, he most likely will quit on this team also.

More than likely after this 4 year contract, Ben won't have a Max Deal, due to the Owners and Players not wanting Ben.

Plus his Athleticism will decline, that is the only thing he has left.

 

you might be right but I think we have divas right now too. Too much time spent in the hair saloon not enough in gym. TBH im disappointed in Green how you come into NBA after gleague season weighting 70kilos. He will be bodied by any premier defender. I thought he is more like JA Morant/Iverson, fierce, quick mf..... he looks bodied out there. Settles for threes. Bad handling. He really needs to re focus he doesn't look sharp at all

 

The Rockets haven't played any Regular Season games yet.

The only one player that really should start is Alperen Sengun.

It feels like the opposing teams are pressuring the backcourt, Jalen Green and KPJ and Daniel Theis looks useless as a offensive player.

With Alperen Sengun I think he is a Real Point Center, he can easily read the opposing team defense and break them down, that way on offense Jalen and Kevin can focus on scoring and at moments make a Assist.

Alperen Sengun literally makes the Court open up, team defenses get confused and frustrated.

 

Josh Christopher was one of three Rockets with a positive +/- (and he led them all).

 

I'll be the first to say it, green is a bust
