I wonder if Rich Paul and Ben comes back to Morey and say "we'll come back as long as you fire Doc" who is going to win that battle: Rivers or Simmons?
I'm curious what happens if Ben shows up and is clearly dogging it while taking his game to newfound lows. Would there be legal ramifications if that scenario were to play out given that Simmons has publicly expressed his desire to never play another game for Philly?
Highest contracts now, Harden, Westbrook, CP3, Wall in the mid $40 million. Now I don't think CP3, Westbrook, Wall will be getting a pay raise but what do you think Durant, LeBron, Harden Steph Curry, AD types are going to be getting if the salary cap goes up to $170M to $175M due to streaming of games? Even if salaries are capped and slotted according to tenure you may see LeBron, Durant, Harden, Curry at $58 million to $65 million depending on new CBA. Players association nixed money gradually being entered over years the last time the cap jumped. You may have to pay 3 scrub players $18 - $20 million to do all that All Star Simmons does. That's paying 3 players the equivalent of Bazemore near $60 million when Simmons is getting it done at $36 million. What is the salary cap right now? 119M.......goes up to $170M in about 2 years? Every team is going to have money to go after the guy you want. I find it hilarious that a team that won 17 games can be picky. Oh no we are too good for this 3 time all star.....or that 3 time All Star. We only want the best of the best of the Best sir!!!!!!! Get out of here with that. Holding out for the perfect players has us waiting for the White Whale like captain Ahab. And we may not like what we find when we pay for the next Bazemore or Tyler Johnson of our time.
I think then you would have something that's similar to what Harden did when he wanted out here though it's still really not the playbook Rich Paul should be using, especially when there's a huge chasm between both players' talent and what they can bring to the table. If Simmons do go that route then I guess it would force Morey to take whatever the best offer is just to get rid of him. Or he could probably start fining Simmons for something like conduct detrimental to the team.
Simmons can really do whatever he wants if he reports. The NBA CBA will protect him with them team but he has no protection at home.
LMAO Putting "All Star" in quotes like it's not a real thing. You are just fvcking gaslighting yourself.
I can’t believe Simmons is returning after refusing to meet with his teammates multiple times. What a mess.
People on here writing posts that if were collected together could make a quite the epic essay in a player you think should be on a team. Which in actual real life has zero Zero chance of happening. Because of so many reasons and variables. Time exceptionally well spent!
Very likely but Ben needs to realize Embiid had his back for years. It finally took a turn when it became very clear Simmons has no interest in changing. Maybe Ben will realize that playing with an MVP caliber center that can shoot 3s ain’t a bad thing
you should check out the NBA dish for a different slant on Simmons and how he’s the victim in all of this
God forbid Doc calls out Andre Drummond for not being a championship player. The NBA Dish would blow the F up
Feels like Klutch slipped Simmons through Philadelphia's backdoor right as the Gruden news dropped. First smart thing I've seen them do since ending Benji's holdout.
