This is what happens when you hype people that have the tools but didn't put in the work to utilize them properly. "He's 6'9 can dribble he's got to be the next Magic, right?" No! Magic would have taken that layup. Hit or miss he would have taken those free throws if need be. Simmons had so much room it likely would have been a And1. SF would be good too.

Unfortunately it appears to be the opposite. Pivotal events can also cause people to retreat or quit or deflect blame on external causes.

Getting stuck on the money is silly.

Not coming out of your pocket.

Let Stone worry about that, he's shown to be more than capable of figuring this out.

Getting stuck on one play is ignorant.

Some team is going to get a huge addition to their team.

But it does affect the cap and ability to build around your beloved Simmons.

You got it bad with Simmons gurl.

Silly. That is such BS. Is worrying about Wall’s contract Silly? Sure let’s get all the malcontent overpaid one dimensional players. We should keep Wall, trade for Simmons and Love. Starting lineup Wall, Gordan, Simmons, Love, Theis. How exciting? Your takes on Simmons are ruining your reputation as a reasonably reliable commenter.

He'll still be good, but he already has show he can't be relied in key moment. Its not just this one play.

You people do realize it's Ben Simmons himself who INSISTED he's a point guard, right?
He has reiterated it on multiple occasions.

Can we please stop trying to make this a rational argument?

It's a strawman. It's an intentional mis-representation of why people don't want bad players with large salaries. Under a cap, players need to be worth their $ value.

This is like the 3rd time this week that I've replied to this about Wall or Simmons.

Seriously. No one’s thinking, “Man, I really hope we don’t trade for Simmons because I’m worried about Tilman’s bottom-line. He may have to raise the price of food at his restaurants that I never frequent!”

Yes, JVG and the lead commentator spoke about such during the Rockets
    vs Miami most recent game.

Supposedly Thybulle in an interview questioned as to why Simmons was getting grilled.
He said he was the one that fouled Huerter that put the game out of reach.

VanGundy then praised Thybulle for being a stand up guy for saying such.
    ____________________________
I looked up the "Play-by-Play" tracking on NBA.com:

4th Quarter: 03'29": Simmons passed up on dunk by passing to Thybulle (Thybulle fouled)
    ................................ Thybulle missed first FT
................................ Thybulle makes second FT (Sixers down 1 point)

4th Quarter: 00'54": Thybulle fouled Huerter (3 shot foul)
................................Huerter makes first FT (Hawks 94 / Sixers 92)
................................Huerter makes second FT (Hawks 95 / Sixers 92)
................................ Huerter makes third FT (Hawks 96 / Sixers 92)

It was pretty much over at that point. Not much happened from Sixers in the final 54 seconds

Cool of Thybulle and JVG was right; Sixers had all game to score more points
and 3'29" left in the game to make up that 1 point trade off of what would have
been a 2-pt dunk.....instead of a one point made trip to the FT line by Thybulle.

Simmons is just being used as a scapegoat

OMG, I learned about Morris Massey in the late 80s - he gave a very informative talk on Value Programming and how we learn 90% of our core values between the ages 1 to 5. He also spoke at length on the subject of SEE and how it can undue or rewrite the value code in your brain. Fascinating stuff.

If the money was such an issue then why did Stone even engage in trade talks with Philly during Harden trade.

You are projecting your inadequacy in salary cap management onto Stone and Witus.

If there us one thing this FO understands, its cap management.

Wall money is not just going to disappear.

The smart organizations move these kind of salaries for a player(s) that can actually contribute ON THE F'ING COURT.

Rockets do not need more offense, they need more DEFENSE and REBOUNDING and PACE and DISRUPTIVE PLAYS.

    That's what she said.

Keep it in your pants too.

You hold out for that supermodel dbang.

An All Star in the hand is worth 2 in the bush.

But I guess you wouldn't know about bush.

    Keep keeping that powder dry.
