If he’s that far out of touch with the Knicks then it might be worse on other issues in New York City .
That’s probably why he lost so badly.

That’s like if you ran for mayor of Houston and said you’re mad that Yao had to play for the Chinese Olympic team. You are way out of touch of the current events

You do realize that the Democratic Party currently has to deal with a person by the name of Kyrsten Sinema right? I have a problem with creating power and leverage for yourself if the end result is damaging the legislative process which impacts good things that can happen as an outcome.

I do NOT have a problem with people like Angus King and Bernie Sanders who chose to reject the party identity, but have a track record of always doing the right thing.

The thing here that makes this kind of silly to really spend too much time discussing is that Andrew Yang is pretty damn irrelevant in politics because Twitter followers does not = true political power. Yang couldn't even win a race for Mayor. He isn't a Senator, and doesn't have any Senators who have also ditched the party and joined his Forward party yet. So I'm not really all that concerned about it. Ralph Nader is worth getting upset about. Andrew Yang is NOT Ralph Nader yet. He's not even Kyrsten Sinema because he's not even in Congress. If he runs for President as a third party though in 2024, and has no path to winning but stays in and helps Trump get elected... I'll have a HUGE problem with Andrew Yang.

Right now... more power to you Andrew. Just don't be surprised when people kind of call you out on what you are doing because it's pretty obvious.

That doesn't really have anything to do with this. If anything, the 3rd party's mission is literally eliminate the 'fulcrum' effect that has led to the Manchins/Liebermans/Sinema's of the world holding outsized influence. In a world where the Forward party has its way, there would be a broad tapestry of parties operating throughout government, so nothing would ever be riding on one person.

It's everyone's own call to make if you believe that someone's intentions are good or bad. Not much to discuss here, suffice to say I disagree if you try to question Yang's motives or aims.

This seems to pretty loudly announce that you haven't looked into the idea behind and mission statement of the party. The whole concept is that it isn't partisan. Anyone can join it without "renouncing" their other partisanships. They can do this because they're fairly narrowly focused. It's centered primarily on Democracy reform (RCV, term limits, open primaries, voter enablement, etc) with things like UBI floating around in the soup but not driving the bus.

In terms of spoiling anything, that seems extremely unlikely. Not just because the party is going to pull from both sides (appetite for 3rd party support is higher among conservatives, fyi), but because they've explicitly stated they will be focusing mostly on uncontested districts and primaries. I'd also chill with the whole "orange man bad" brain waves this early. Don't attack someone for some hypothetical sin they could commit 3 years from now... that's a bit much.

If it ever were to come down to it, I'd support the candidate who aligns with the Forward folks first, be they Republican or Democrat, because I feel like the issues they are speaking to are the most important in my mind. So, you can yell and scream at voters like me all you want for not being party loyalist, but that's never going to work. A better idea would be to give me reasons to vote for you instead by caring about the issues I think are important.

Yawn @ Yangs…. It’s clear this is about ego. He sucks as a wannabe politician so I guess he just wants to be the spoiler.
