I am having surgery Wednesday... they asked me a series of questions about COVID-19 (whether I have ever tested positive, whether anyone in my house had, whether I had vaccines, when etc). I was happy to answer the questions and happier that they asked the questions... since one of my fears has been to somehow get infected while at the hospital.
It is nice to know they're asking. Mostly this is done for the staff, though. Hospitals don't want to waste money on extra PPE for every single case. It's actually embarrassing how stingy some hospitals are with their PPE. Especially in the early days of covid, before the vaccine. Good luck on your surgery. I wish you well! And a speedy recovery, too.
What? It is and it's had a far larger field study than anything before it. What a giant sample size we have from this.
Repeating this again. Over a billion people have now taken the vaccines. The odds of severe side effects are in the 1:millions. About the odds of getting struck by lightning. The odds of getting into a car accident driving to get the vaccine are higher than the odds of getting a severe side effect. The vaccines have been widely in circulation for 11 months now. Phase 3 trials for several of the vaccines involved tens of thousands of people among the largest Phase 3 trials. While the specific vaccines were developed quickly they were based on science from decades especially on SARS COV-1 which the COVID-19 virus is very similar to.
I've seen people saying this on Twitter recently. One person also said flu shots aren't vaccines. Is this a new anti-vaxx strategy -- denying that what they are against are vaccines?
