The caveat is that there's still a lot we don't know for sure. Long covid sounds terrifying and I definitely wouldn't want to roll the dice on de-licer or horsey suppositories to prove a stupid point no one will care about 5 years from now.

I found another source that says that up to 50,000 women per year in the US suffer severe pregnancy related complications with about 700-900 dying. Plenty for the zygote. Only about 1/3 make it to the third term. 1/3 fail to attach to the uterus. 1/3 are miscarried in the first and second terms.
