I'd also like to give huge props to the BBS: it's good to know that no matter how things are going people will find various ridiculous things to b**** about
I was thinking about going out Sunday for my bday to Chicago but couldn’t get friends to do it. Def have the same feeling.
This was a beautiful slide, but that catcher’s leg was way too far over the plate. I know they like to walk the edge of the rule, lean over even, Maldonado does from time to time, but this is a bit too much for me. Ball wasn’t even close before he got in this position. You can’t completely cut off the pathway to the plate like this...
LaRussa just completely dumb starting Lynn. Did y'all know Lynn had given up 25 ER in his last 53 IP? Rodon should have been your game 1 starter, end of story. Letting him pitch to Brantley was even more stupid. That was ball game. I thought the White Sox had a definite advantage regarding the manager in this series, but not anymore. Dusty appears to be a genius compared to that mess.
There's a number of posters in this thread that have never watched playoff baseball before. You don't want your back of the bullpen guys going a week between outings. With the off day Saturday there's no reason why Graveman and Pressly can't pitch the first 3 games of this series if needed. It wasn't a terrible decision to pitch those guys today. They'll be ready to go tomorrow.
Even if he was out he should have been ruled safe on replay. I'm just glad he didn't hurt himself on Grandal's cleats and shinguard
Seriously. They win a 6-1 in a game that probably went almost exactly as the team planned for in terms of a best case scenario and people are still complaining about Dusty and the bullpen. Dusty makes plenty of questionable decisions, but people are also looking for things to blame him for.
