The first trailer has been released for “Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City,” the upcoming live-action reboot of the “Resident Evil” film franchise. The Johannes Roberts-directed film ignores the Milla Jovovich-led films and returns to the horror roots of the original games. Set in 1998, Raccoon City was once the booming home of pharmaceutical giant Umbrella Corporation and is now a dying Midwestern town. The company’s exodus left the city a wasteland… with great evil brewing below the surface. When that evil is unleashed, the townspeople are forever changed… and a small group of survivors must work together to uncover the truth behind Umbrella and make it through the night. The cast includes Kaya Scodelario as Claire Redfield, Robbie Amell as Chris Redfield, Avan Jogia as Leon S. Kennedy, Hannah John-Kamen as Jill Valentine, Tom Hopper as Albert Wesker, Neal McDonough as William Birkin, Donal Logue as Chief Irons, Nathan Dales as Brad Vickers and Marina Mazepa as a terrifying Lisa Trevor. “Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City” arrives exclusively in cinemas on November 24th. https://www.darkhorizons.com/first-trailer-live-action-resident-evil-reboot/ This looks a lot more like an actual Resident Evil movie based on the game instead of those garbage Milla Jovovich movies. May still be crap but I'm going to check it out, still remember playing the first two games in college for hours...
I agree, that whole trailer was better than the franchise movies. Such garbage can't believe they did like 6 of those and they all sucked.
I was thinking about giving the Resident Evil movies another shot. (I watched one but it seemed to lack any substance). Guess I'll wait for this now.
The Milla Jovovich RE movies were so bad that this trailer alone is a massive step forward for the franchise
