Never saw that movie but if it's the same smarmy character that Reynolds has perfected in all his other movies, then yes, yes I was lol. "How can I help you?" "I rented this yesterday but it stopped in the middle of the movie" "Ah okay so this movie has two tapes. If you put in the second tape the movie should continue" "I never got a second tape" "Hmm that's odd because the tapes are usually connected together by a rubber band" "Oh right I thought that was a mistake so I broke the rubberband and only took the top movie" "I'm sorry to hear. Let's try to find your tape's best friend so they can reunite. If not and there aren't any additional copies available you'll have to wait and finish the movie later" ...minutes later... "Sorry I don't know where it could have went...if you can come back tomorrow we can see if another copy got returned" *Had placed the 2nd tape behind the register after finding it on the shelf without its bff from the night before*
I also remember it was a game of sorts for some punk kids to come in and take the softcore p*rn and put them in the kids section. Sure the videos didn't have pictures on them (because they all came in the same Blockbuster clamshell) but it's still not cool to check out movies and see some perverse movie title between Care Bears and the Little Mermaid.
You need to check it out. It's a classic. The most underrated movie of all time. I didn't hear about until last year.
This is a really good point. Although I wouldn't be surprised if we do see a lot of these old sources mined with the streaming wars and specialty platforms like Shudder (horror) coming out. There are probably a lot of abandoned titles that are in some sort of legal limbo, though.
Takes a few pop ups to get it going, but here is the link to Better Off Dead. https://movies2watch.tv/watch-movie/watch-better-off-dead-hd-9596.2510646
