On one hand, I'm thrilled that the Yankees have to sweat through a single-game elimination, and risk getting ousted with that bloated payroll. On the other hand, it seriously chaps my ass that Rob Manfred gets to sit back and enjoy the spoils of what will most likely be one of the most watched baseball games in recent history. **** that guy from here to Neptune. With that being said, I am not here to offend any Baseball Gods that may be meandering through our little corner of the internet. Please forgive me. I am a mere, puny human who could never hit the down and away curve to save my life.
Losing to the Red Sox with the guy they paid $300 million for on the mound has got to be one of the most painful ways for Yankees fans to lose, no?
I know there is something about drawing it out that might make it worse, but I think the sooner the better. It's also less we'll have to hear about them. This is also not in anyway flaunting the baseball gods as you put it.
No DJ and no JD? Coencidence? Probably but seems suspicious. Hope neither team tries some kind of bs blood sacrifice to win the WS, wouldn't put it ahead of either teams.
LeMahieu is the most average player in the history of Baseball, stinky Odor sucks tho and I expect him to be a complete black hole in DJLM's place.
They could move Torres to 2B and put Odor at SS, I would think. I fully expect Gallo and Odor to have huge games tonight, just to piss me off, and also just because the universe does that sometimes. We'll see. eta: what I would like to see, down to the bottom of my Bleeding Orange Heart, is at least one meaningful Gary Sanchez f**kup behind the plate. He'll probably also hit a HR as well, so everything can't be perfect.
FULL STOP At least he wasn't able to **** up the postseason...we have seen our last extra inning ghostrunner for the year. However, as far as I know the 3-batter reliever rule is in effect.
It would feel so good to see Cole get his ass handed to him. Unfortunately I think he pitches lights out
I like the 3-batter rule, 10 minutes of commercials for a single at bat is torture. Besides, I don't think its crazy to expect a lefty to get two lefties and a righty out or at least survive one of them getting on base. Limiting pickoff throws, pitch clocks, and forcing the batter to stay in the box could all improve the game, or maybe I'm crazy and it will ruin it.
